Rapid Tapping Noise

Rapid Tapping Noise
Ok, I just finished getting everything put back together (reasons have discussed in other threads) and fired up the motor. I now have a loud, rapid, tapping noise that gets faster and maybe a little louder as the engine revs up. It seemed like it may have have gotten marginally better after running it for a while in the driveway and a quick easy spin around the block, but it can still be distinctly heard over the car.
I have heard the clip of the idiot on YouTube that had the spun rod bearing and did an exhaust clip, and after listening to that and doing some reading, I don't think that is my problem because the noise doesn't slow or decrease with rpms and it definitely doesn't stop, like when you punch the gas.
I have taken my stethoscope and probed around, but never found a spot that I thought could defnitely be the culprit. I seem to hear it the loudest when I put the stethoscope on the bellhousing though. I have loosened the clutch cable so I can make sure the TOB is not touching the pressure plate and the noise is still there. Before the teardown, I have what seems to be the same noise that I could make go away by mashing down the clutch pedal, but now that doesn't work. Doesn't matter if it is in gear or neutral, foot on the clutch or not. Still does it and just gets faster with the rpms.
I do not have a oil pressure gauge other than the one on the dash, but the needle shows it ok. It always read a little low, and I found that the screen had some junk on it, which I cleaned off and now the needle seems to be higher.
I have unplugged each injector one at a time with no change. I have pulled the spark plug wires, no change. I know I have read/heard about the lash adjusters being loud for a short period of time following replacement and/or work. The car was down and the engine was apart and on the stand for ~1 month.
Any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated.
