Exclamation question on 2v cams need some help

so i recently purchased crower stage 2 cams with patriot spring kit and a motoblue bolt in cam gear kit i was quoted 500 for install an 150 if i wanted my cams degreed but the guy said i should change my oil tensioner an timing chain an get new timing cover gaskets is that stuff really necessary he said it might not need it but change them anyways an im just wondering would it be fine if i dont change them an install the cams with the spring kit an motoblue bolt in cam gear kit because im kinda on a budget an i wanna get them installed soon an need to save the money for the install an dont really have the money for that extra stuff just tryin to see if i REALLY need it for the install if anything bad would happen or anything

thanks guys you always give me the right feedback on my other choices an i appreciate it hope you guys can help me out on this one too

I didnt replace any gaskets when doing my cam install. The only thing I did was replace springs and put it the cams which came with new cam bolts. To remove the front cover youll need to remove the crank pulley, so youll need a new bolt for that too.

You might need new gaskets depending on the condition they are in. As for the timing chains and oil tensioner, I dont know about all that.

Unless you got a decent amount of miles or if your chain is stretched/ready to snap, you should be fine for keeping it. The timing cover gasket is also reusable provided it isn't ripped/leaking oil. However, you should get your cams degreed to get the most out of them.

I'd get an ARP crank pulley bolt. They're like 25 bucks but they're reusable. Other than that... new gaskets are always a good idea. Chains and all that should be fine. Look for obvious wear of the plastic chain guides and you should be just fine. If they look worn, they are and should be replaced. If not.. don't waste the money.

how many miles are on it...

the only thing we reused on mine was the chains... use new gaskets.
