Touble code question!
Ok I know this is the billionth question regarding DTC for 2v motors, but I am having a hard time finding the information on how to correct this particular one.
For those of you who know, my motor was recently built and runs at 11:8-1 compression. This motor was recently tuned and dynoed using an SCT X2. With this in mind, I did neglect to inform the tuner there was a Kirban Adjustable fuel regulator and the engine builder had set the fuel pressure at 45psi to help combat the pinging I had prior to the computer and motor being tuned.
Now the motor was tuned with the pressure being at this pressure. I got a trobule code this morning and cleared it after writting it down. It showed
P0172 Sys too rich. Does this mean the air is too heavy, not enough, or too much fuel? I can adjust the fuel pressure down, but really have no idea what to set it to. Any suggestions on this? I am going to clean the MAF sensor, the plenum and just do basic stuff there. Could this mean an O2 sensor is failing also?

rich is going to be either a tuning issue pure and simple or something like an exhaust leak at the manifold gasket causing the forward O2 to read lean and richening the mix to compensate.
Make your tuner fix your tune. When it stops puking out trouble codes, then he's done it right. It's an inexact science so it's not surprising that it may take a few attempts to nail it down, especially with 11.8:1 compression on pump gas.
