Long Block
Wasup guys I just had a qucik question. If I want a long block from Vt which one should I get for a dd? Right now I'm looking at the GT 302 Stroker Pro (Billet) which will cost me $8095. Is that a good choice?
thanks

he's picked the single most expensive setup they have for his daily driver. I'm positive we're missing some info.
So how you gunna justify billet rods? They ain't bling man... you can't even see em. I'm going to assume that since it's a DD you're not running 30lbs of boost so billet rods are a little much.
Just get a forged sportsman with stage 2 heads and a canton pan. If you need to spend more money go with a GT302 forged sportsman and the extras mentioned earlier.

I am sorry master, forgive me for my foolishness.
Lol, naw bro thanks for the help. Its a 04 Gt and its going to be a dd. I'm also going to slap on a novi in the future. Do you think MMR www.modularmustangracing.com would be a better choice. They seem to have better prices and descriptions. Oh and sorry for my newbness but you mean that the billet option is just bling?
Thanks again

Take the MMR900 and put whatever boost you want into it. If VT is closer then their forged sportsman is good option. Just make sure whatever you get to go ahead and pop for the 8 bolt forged crank. A novi2000 at 16psi would be just as at home on either as a novi1000 and 6psi. What kind of power are you ready to try and reign in? (Be realistic.... a 600hp car is a BITCH to daily drive)

600hp is a lot of power. putting that down on the barely useable roads throughout the country and having it be smooth and safe is hard. I've driven dozens of 600+rwhp cars on the street and they really do require a LOT more attention be paid to them. You can't just get in and drive it. You really have to pilot it. You end up granny shifting and not enjoying the power you have as often so it's more effort than it ends up being worth.
I'm of the opinion that appreciably more than 500rwhp becomes unweildy on the street. It's more effort than it's worth to reign it in and still try and have fun with it. The realistic side is, most of us like to feel the power from every stoplight and losing traction/control because you had too much power becomes a real issue when the power levels become insane.

the most NA I've seen doesn't matter (about 325rwhp in person). You'll never spend that much money for so little power.
A blower is a great thing for a mustang. It makes a quick car authentically fast and that's why we drive these right? Just keep it reasonable. You're going to have to take steps to get to whatever power level you'll find you want so go ahead and get a blower, and if you've got the money get a built block and all the goodies. But after you pass 450rwhp, start asking yourself with each bump in power if you're making the car any more fun or useful than it was or if you've just got dyno-racing fever. Also ask yourself if the effort of piloting your street rocket is more than the amount of fun justifies.
I'm usually a pretty happy chappy with enough power to keep my money in the $100 challenge.
