Default Where to start on my new motor...

Ok... I know I've talking about another motor for a while... In fact, it's making my girlfriend nuts!!! I'm not going to rebuild the current engine I have as I will need to drive the car everyday to school and work.... But I'm not sure where to start.... this motor I'm going to build which I want is a 96-98 cobra 4.6 dohc.... I want this motor to have at least 480- 500 at the crank...

Any suggestions on combos? And no I'm not going to pay to have it built.. The only thing I want to pay for is the parts and maybe machining and balancing and probly blue printing as well...

Any suggestions would be appreciated...
Thanks,
Brian

Just go .020 over....get quality bearings, crank, rods, pistons etc. Your heads are where the power will come from. Get ahold of Al Papitto...probably the best 4V head porter in the country. www.boss330racing.com also a very nice guy. Lot of differences in the 96-98 heads and newer 4V models. Al can tell you which ones to look for. Al's NA 5.4 puts down over 500RWHP so I'm sure he can come up with 500 crank HP.... Bob Cosby's 4V laid down over 350rwhp and was extremely limited by the Factory Stock rules.
