Default which is better for headers

Ok well buying the headers for my 97 saleen and wonder, which is better. Been reading a lot and it seems the long tube headers have a lot of problems with leaking so was thinking about getting shorties. I place the order for the pro chamber h pipe and have borla exhaust. The sc is coming so don’t know how that plays into effect here. Really I don’t know much about this topic so looking for some pointers in which way to go but don’t want to do it cheaply. So my question is which header is the best to use for my set up with keeping in mind sc is coming so has to be sc friendly.

Longtubes will give you more bang for the buck. Mac is good an cheap but you said you don't want to do cheap, i would look around and see what you find. You can get custom headers also.

Longtube BBKs, you will gain more with longtubes on a supercharged car, they are guaranteed OEM fit. Then use the stage 3 locking header bolts. So you dont have to worry about leaking or anything.

Ceramic too, it will keep the temp down.

if you just ordered the prochamber, then you will probably need to get shorties, because you probably didnt order the shortie prochamber to bolt up to the Long tubes.

Shorties are a waste of time and money.

I'll concur. In probably 10 sets of BBK, there were fitment issues with every last one, especially LT's. It's been a while but I doubt the fixed much.

Id go with Mac LT's. They are cheap and I havent heard of any fitment issues. They also have the new coating on them which is pretty nice.

I put in a set two weeks ago in a 02, fit was great, better than my slp. They don't hang that low and with the matching bbk x-pipe and lm1 sound great. I'd buy them anyday. Don't waist your time and $ on shorties. Drop the k-frame and take your time. I've done three now. K-frame removed is the best way to go and stage8 lockers for peace-of-mind.
