top half of motor sounds like its a lifter knocking can anyone help

 

Check your oil level. That's the easy fix (hopefully)...if that's not it, ...

 

My 01 actually did the same thing. It sounded just like a lifter. I took mine to the Ford place, and 3 hours later drove away in my new 03 I think they told me it was some bearing loose or something, I can't remember.
