Default H-Pipes

I see an unGodly number of X-Pipe's are available for the Mustang. What I wanted to know was if there are after-market H-Pipes too? If so, how, if at all, are they any better than the stock H-Pipe?

I'm looking for an H-Pipe because of some "warnings" that combining an X-Pipe (especially an O/R one) with SLP Loudmouths (which I already have installed) would be next to ear-drum peircing in loudness.

Well, Im not so sure an H pipe will necessarly be quieter then an x pipe. However, there will be a difference in sound. The H pipe is deeper, while the X pipe is more high pitch. X pipes are also raspy. IMO H pipes sound a lot better. The power #'s are pretty much the same, more favoring the x pipe though. The best thing to do is listen to different combinations and pick the one you like best. Im running Mac LT's, Mac o/r H, and magnapack catback. You can listen to clips on my site.

Mac makes an H-pipe and a pro chamber, but for the 05-06's I don't know if they have it out yet.

I like X pipes and mufflers with turndowns. If you get rid of the tail pipes then the X's get a lot more rumble to them.

I had an X for a year and a half and once I got my H put in, Id have it no other way. X's are a little louder and may produce a few more hp on the dyno, but are a little too crazy sounding(not much tone). My H has much more tone and with my gears, I LOVE revving higher thru rpm's just to hear the sound. No raspyness, no weird clicking noise, I have no negative feelings about my H

Yes, Mac makes good exhaust parts. Remember though, you gotta get stainless, jet hot coated or powder coated headers or they will rust. This is for all makers, not just Mac.

well...

sit down...

noone ever thinks of this...

Go and have a custome exhaust made... it'll end upo costing the same or very close and ya'll get EXACTLY what you want...

I'd start lookin into it...

go sit down with the exhaust spec. and say... I want this.... he says... ok... gimme this much $$$$ and ya gotta deal...

then you argue the price and come out with exhaust that you are happy with

look into it... i have a few friends who did it

I had a Flowtech Off-Road X-Pipe with SLP Loudmouth 1's and i thought it was way too loud. i switched to magnaflow mufflers but i am lokking for something louder. im thinking about going with a MAC Off-Road H with SLP Loudmouth 1's. Does this sound okay or will it be too similar to what it was before? or should i go with the SLP Powerflo catback with the MAC O/R H?
