Default X-pipe question

I'm going to be installing an offroad x-pipe and magnaflow cat back on friday. i'm concerned abou the x-pipe.

i'm not going to install mil eliminators because in may i'll be going to mobil 1 fun ford challenge (car show) where i plan on purchasing a predator tuner. my friend bought his there for less than $300.

anyways my question is will it hurt my car in any way by not having eliminators for now? will it hurt performance or anything else?

Thanks,
redfire04

If you search the Forum there is a way to make your own for a few bucks.

I've seem that about making your own. i just don't want to do that because i don't want to mess up my 02s. the way i've been reading if you make your own you have to splice into your 02s.

don't really want to do that, so i was going to just wait until i get the predator tuner to shut them off. i was just making sure it wasn't going to hurt performance or cause anything else to be messed up computer wise.

....

i've also been reading around, i have an 04 am i going to need 02 extenders in order to install the x-pipe? i thought i read that some 04s need them?

Thanks guys,

you'll be fine, except for a SES light!

You will be fine, however, the Car's Computer will adjust fuel by a small amount inorder to compensate or try to fix the problem.

You car will be fine, I would just recomend not to use NOS if you have it untill it is taken off.

i guess i don't have anything to worry about then! i don't have any nitrous...
i'm probably won't do anything to extreme with this car. i just traded in my focus, and got a great deal on the mustang!

so far i have a magnaflow (not magnapacks) and a o/r x pipe, i think it's a mac. my friend is selling me the x pipe since he just put long tubes on he had to get a short pipe.

I'm hoping i'll be happy with the exhaust because i don't want it being abnoxiously loud or drone during highway driving. from what i've read magnaflow should work great for what i'm wanting.

thanks again!

I have a magnaflow cat back, I put my off road xpipe on 2 weeks ago, I unhooked the batter to clear any codes and to start new. I drove 2 weeks with no codes, and no it won't hurt running without the mil eliminators.

I have a sct 4 bank chip and it does the job of mil eliminators.

Man the xpipe really made these magnaflows louder, you'll love the new sound

No the rear o2's are for reading the exhuast gas to make sure the cats ans egr still work correctly it does not affect air/fuel ratio at all. aka it add no fuel or pull fuel out.

awesome! i'm excited! i'm really anxious to hear what it sounds like! it really won't bother me to have a CEL too much, i just wanted to make sure i wasn't going to be potentially hurting anything else by doing so.

in may i'll be getting the diablo predator tuner from the mobil 1 fun ford weekend. that'll take care of the CEL i just didn't want to waste $60 on eliminators (or make my own and splice anything), since i won't be needing them after i get the tuner!
