I'm getting pissed trying to find some VT stage 1's. Does anyone know who has them in stock? If not, are the comps version comparible HP/TQ and easy swap out. I know Comp recommends new valve springs with all their cams. Is it really nessesary?

IMO if you're going to go to the trouble to swap the cams just got wiht the stage 2... without going stage 2 you'll be disappointed... ALso i would swap out the springs too which isn't really to hard either.... Look for a shop around the area that will put them in for you.. i'm looking at cams also and i'm going to get custom grinded stage 2's with beefed up springs for 1500 installed and tuned... and in order to put the springs in you don't have to take the heads off if thats something that you're worrying about...just for comparision the shop where i'm going to get my cams done at put stage 2 cams and springs in a 96 gt withe the PI intake adn heads, underdrive pullies, and x-pipe and cat-back and he put down 305hp and 320tq to the wheels which is way more then you would get out of stage 1's

 

I decided to just wait. When I do a cam swap I'll probably go stage 2. In the mean time I just ordered a Venom 1000 kit. I had a tune for it in my chip anyways. I still need to send it back though. I'll be putting my headers and X-pipe on friday.
