Default brakes upgrade?

Hey guys how's it goin'?
Quick question. I have an 02 GT and I'm ready to upgrade the brakes. I'm looking at the Mach 1 conv. kit and the Cobra conv. kit. Any difference besides the running pony and cobra written on the callipers? Right now I'm leaning towards the Mach 1 brakes. I like the horse!

There are no difference just one has cobra one does not. And donr bother getting teh rear setup froma cobra or bullit its the same as yours stopping power wise.

Thanks! Mach 1 it is then.

Should I just paint the rear calipers red?

That's what I would do. By the way, I think the running horse are Bullitt brakes and Mach 1 are just plane grey calipers but still same as Cobra/Bullitt.

I am gonna do front and rears on mine. My rear rotors are probably nearly shot anyway. It really is not that much more $ to get the painted rears at that point.

There is a difference actually...

96-01 Cobra (black calipers) have a smaller piston than the Bullitt/Mach 1 Calipers. However, the 03 Cobra calipers have larger pistons than the other two calipers.

All are twin piston, but there are slight increases in size .

Ill prolly get a brake upgrade when I get more power. Might just get Cobra takeoff's if i can get em with few miles and cheaper. If not then might have to get them new.

IDK, on Stangsuspension they have what they call "Mach 1 calipers" and they are just the base grey that the Cobra calipers are but without the "Cobra"

From checking it out here on MT the 10th ann. cobra callipers are grey and the regular cobra's and mach 1's with the "galloping thoughrobred" are red.

Any difference between the slotted rotors and the brembo rotors that come with the kit? Which is better?

Seems to be a mixup here so Ill clarify this.

10th anniv Cobra brakes are RED and say COBRA on them in white letters
Mach 1 & Bullitt brakes are RED and have a white horse on them
99-01 brakes are dark grey and say COBRA on them in white letters

Mine i posted above are the 10th ann cobra brakes.

The MACH 1's that I picked up from my buddies car (when he added the Wildwoods) were Gray with no logos. I painted them black and added the COBRA sticker from some yahoo on ebay then hit them with high temp clear

So, let me get all of this right since I've worked on all 3 of them.

03 SVT 10th Anniversary Cobra are Red. All other 03/04 Cobra's were grey.
Bullitt were Red with the running pony. No other car used this design.
Mach 1 were grey with no script/logo/or pony. Just grey.
