Buying a Fox`
I have a co-worker that has to sell his 1990 LX 5.0 Hatch. But, this is no ordinary LX 5.0. This car...has...*****. We took it out last night after work for a drive. He was putting the car under a nice stress test for me, doing 180 degree turns, brake torques, and of course, putting the pedal to the floor. I swear, from a dead stop we were doing 80 in about six seconds. So, in short, this car is the ****! His explaination is that he dropped another 5.0 engine in. It's all normally aspirated, and no performance mods. It's like a super 5.0
However there are some small problems. The driver side window is gone, the smaller driver side has got a hole, the gear grinds in reverse, and the right front fender is slightly pushed in. And it's in need of a paint job. He's selling this fine horse for 750 dollars. So, to my question: the car runs beautifully, but it just needs some work. Do you think this pony would be worth my cash?
Sorry about the long post.

The answer depens on your ability to work on the car yourself to fix the problems that you have mentioned. $750 is a fine price for any car that can get you from A to B. Sounds like you will have a nice project car to invest some time into. BUT, you will be looking at quite a bit more if you plan to pay someone to do most of the fix up work yourself.

where are you at??? cuz if you don't buy it I will! Like said above $750 bucks for a car that runs like you said is awesome, if nothing else buy it for the motor, and find a stang w/o a motor and drop it in.

Yeah, I was thinking about going to the junkyard for those parts. The windows are the biggest problem, the fender and the paint is almost a non-issue, becuse its not that bad. Besides... wouldnt it be devestating to a Civic driver to get wooped by a 15 year old car with mismatched paint? Heh heh. No 5.0 badges on the fenders either. I'm thinking it might stay that way.

if you odnt buy a 1990 LX with a 5 speed and 5.0 that in running condition for 750 your crazy, you cna tunr around and resell that car for more than 1k even with ****ty paint etc. my freinds 91 LX same setup ran 12's with a crappy body and it sold for $1500 could of gotten more if we spent a for more days and painted it.
