Default Question(s)

Could anybody give a tip or two on how to get the handle off of my E brake to put on a new one? And also would the x pipe without cats give better power gains than with cats?

You can use an Exacto Knife or buy one like steeda that will fit on top.

If you dont mind having an illegal exhaust go with the cat-less exaust you will be better off in the long run. More power does come from it and you feel it.

Regarding the cats issue, you will not see any gains by taking the cats off, in fact, you will actually loose especially in the lower ranges. The gains are not prevelant until you are making loads of boost.

I spoke with engineers at SLP a while back about this and they recomend that their o/r x pipe not be used for near stock applications. Removing the cats results in too much of a loss in back-pressure and thus a loss in power.

Yes, they are correct. The best thing to do is get the Catted Xpipe and when you start adding a power adder you can spend the $62 for the race pipes.

:glasses8: If my calculations are right . The gain is about 2 to 3 hp between the catted and non catted pipes as well as changing the exhaust note. MMFF did an article a while back on how minimal the hp gain was on their stang. Any xpipe is or hpipe is better than stock due to flow and the weight alone is incredible. Looks like the stock one weighs about 4x more than the bassani that I have.

Articles I have read show negligble differences between catted and catless perfomance.
