do u have any tips on driving?
i started drivers ed and can get my permit in bout 4 months. :clap:

 

Dont be an idiot on the road and try to show off.

 

The only tip i can give you is don't act stupid behind the wheel and don't crash. I was 17 or 18 yrs old(can't quite remember) when i first got my GT and i thought i was the best damn driver out there, i quickly realized how much of a sorry driver i was. Drive safe and stay safe..

 

dont get cocky, know ur limits and dont push 'em too hard

 

you cant drive like an ******* or you will get tickets i know. weaving in and out of traffic is dumb and doesnt make you look like cool. Dont even try to do any sweet driving moves cause you cant learnt to drive a year or two then try dumb crap in a big parking lot.

oh and dont speed i cant tell you how much money i paod to my sheriffs office. that is what happens when your in highschool with a fast truck on the bottle.

 

You will crash. I think everyone does this when they first drive....it is sort of a wake-up call. Most are just minor incidents. I remember I drove into a snow bank.

I think every teen driver I have seen go through this neighborhood and hit something, one girl totaled her mom's car twice.

So, be careful and respect the machine. Speed does kill and remember, you are not a good driver. That comes with experience. I find it funny when you hear some 17 year old girl say "I am a good driver" when some people have been driving for 30 years.

 

just take ur time..do ur own thing...and be cautious of OTHER drivers...it may not be that ur not a good driver, but but u gotta pay attention to wat others are doing...they could merge and not see you....

all this is coming from a 17 y/o male who has only been driving for 1 year this past december 26th....and also w/ no traffic violations......all because i take my time and i dont rush

 

Where in OK are you? I'm in Enid, bout 90 miles north of OKC.

Even when your buddies are doin burnouts in the school parking lot, don't join in. They give tickets for that stupidity also. Just use some common sense and you won't become the cliche' of the young kid with the fast car who totalled it in 2 weeks cuz he had no self control. Also, don't drive anything you care about to high school b/c if you don't f it up, someone else will.

 

don't drift on dirt roads

 

9 out of every 10 teenage drivers will get into an accident of some sort in their first year of driving.

 

And the elderly run into the sides of Red Lobster and in one case drove their car into the front doors of the mall..........not saying teen drivers are bad but i'll take a teen driver over an elderly one anyday...lol

 

THings I learned as a teenage driver:

1. Dont speed up to make a turn when the light turns yellow. Even if the lady that hits you ran the light when it was red, it will still be your fault (Failure to Yield Right of Way)

2. When turning into a subdivision don't floor it when you have a fresh coat of aromoall on the tires (stop signs seem to get in the way)

3. Don't try to impress your friends in high school and leave your mark in every parking lot in the school...results:
3a. Several tickets from the local school rent-a-cop
3b. Several sets of tires later you have no money for mods (had a S-10 SS and sold it with 60k miles, it was on it's 5th set of tires)

4. Don't race on the road, especially if you are modded with only exhaust and the person you are racing is completly stock.....you will be the one they pull over.

that's all i can think of at the moment, I know there are more....

my buddies that can allready drive drive crap cars + im homeschooled :loser: so i dont have to worry bout tons of peer pressure (cept the girls at church)
and i know i wont race so not worried bout that.

if Oklahomoa's laws are anything like Georgia's you better not....straight to jail for that here, no if's and's of buts. Even if you're not racing someone, if you just start off hard at a redlight they consider it drag racing!

honestly, once you get used to your car, take it for a spin, learn how it drives and handles under each circumstance, it will make you a better drive, if you get a manual it'll help you even more because you can correct yourself easier...
