Springs you are a knuckle-head!

The 351 first showed up on the Mustang in 1969. There was a two barrel and a four barrel (250 hp and 290 hp respectively). This was the base GT engine in this year. This was the first year the Mach 1 came into existance and the base engine was the guess what, Windsor 351 Two Barrel.

The 351 continued through 1973, though I believe it changed to a Cleveland and the hp ratings dropped tremendously.

I thought that the Mach 1 came with a 429CJ engine.

In 1969, the standard engine for the Mach was the 351 two barrel. The 351 four barrel was an option as was the 390 motor. The CJ-428 was also available on the Mach 1, but I don't believe the SCJ-428 was.
