Ok, first off: the host was retarded to sit u at a table when u asked for a booth. no excuse. if someone ASKS for something, give it to them..within reason. If theyre asking for the $20 filet for free then duh, dont give them it. But if u want a booth and ask for it, NO reason why the host will give u a table.

secondly, if the service sucks, by all means give a bad tip. So many servers at my job complain when they get a bad tip, but I've eaten there on days off and been served by them and they suck sometimes! If I give bad service, I certainly dont expect a good tip.

thirdly, "customer is always right" is a general thing to go on in a situation with a customer. If they say the steak is cooked wrong when they asked for medium and theres a lotta pink...its not that theyre actually right(since medium IS alot of pink), but to avoid pissing them off, just ask them how much pink they want, and cook it like that. If medium to them, is bloody, then so be it. But they should still know that MOST restaurants willl not serve the steak bloody when they ask for medium(unless the cook sucks, which happens). and as a side note: our menu has an outline of what OUR rare-thru-well done is and a description and colors and pics and everything. No excuse to order mid-rare and complain bc theres too much red.

Oh and to all u who eat at steak houses and order steaks well done, or even medium-well, try medium(I personally dont like mid-rare bc its too mushy). Medium is NOT gross, like u may think, and its MUCH more juicy. I had some idiots the other day order the cheapest steak on the menu well done and complain that it wasnt tender!! I was like "wtff?????"

Ok, so I was gonna reply to this a long time ago with a really snotty comment, but I figured "screw it, no need" but now that we're talking about Customer Service I wanna talk a bit about that. First off, I'm a manager at McDonald's in Apple Valley, MN. *Highest grossing McDonald's in the tri-state region* So, obviously I know a bit about customer service. Well, I'm going to share a little experience that I had at the local Perkins and I want you guys to let me how you think things should have been done... I go in there after working a horrible overnight, 10pm to 6:30am. Non-stop rush throughout the night. I was really in the mood for steak and eggs. I go in, and it took them a minute to realize I was there. After I was seated, I ordered. Ordered the steak medium...yadda yadda... The waitress was half decent...she didn't ask me all of the usual "do you want this or that" kind of questions. I got my food...as always I cut into the steak to see how it is. Thing was rare...and I mean they slapped it on the grill for 30 seconds rare! Not good. Sent it back. The waitress was smart and brought me the eggs, hashbrowns and toast back. So I'm sitting there eating that. Waitress comes back with the steak, I cut into it...now it's the regular kind of rare. I'm done. Rather than sending it back a third time I asked her if I could get a ham-steak instead. OK, find. Get that. And she comes back with the FIRST bill. Then when she comes back to see if I'm done, at last, she brings out a new bill, charging me the extra 2 dollars for the ham-steak meal instead of the steak/eggs meal.

I was still nice to her, gave her a decent tip, nothing like I would have if all had gone as I wanted. Oh, and the manager at the cash register, barely seemed concerned...she knew there was a customer whose steak was incorrect, but didn't know it was me until I said something.

At both places I've worked at, if the steak comes out wrong once, the manager brings out the new one. If it is still wrong, 95% of the time, the manager gives it to them for free. There is so 3 strikes. However, I have had a few experiences of food being wrong more than ocne and never being compensated. So the restaurant was wrong in all cases of your issues. I'm just surprises you remained calm. I personally, would have asked for the manager. I wouldnt have been bitchy but atleast let them know I wasnt happy.
