Default Cobra spoilers

Well today I noticed that the stock spoiler on gt's suck. Just curious what is involved in installing an 04 cobra spoiler. How many holes have to be filled in the stock decklid? Whats a good price for a cobra spoiler with the light bar?

Its alot of work. You have to fill all four stock GT holes, then you have to make about 11 more holes for the new one (from what ive heard) and you have to paint it, wire it, etc...people say about $1000-1200 all said and done..i think wingless is better option

steeda wing = yucky

could always go with the MRT B-Wing (which is what I plan on) its almost exactly like the sobra wing except it goes further down the trunk lid to fill cover the holes, heres a pic

Just get the Mr T bwing and all you have to worry about is painting the wing.

I looked at the B-Wing, and the thing I can't stand about it is how much of the trunk it takes up without being graceful. I liked it alot at first, but now I don't.

I'm going with the Cobra wing or wingless, depends on which I get a better deal on.

Right, but the problem I have is the "one size fits all" for 99-04... because of this the extension goes all the way across the decklid. Its rediculous, they should have made 2 different ones, much like saleen.

That bwing goes WAY past the factory holes. That covers up 75% of the trunk lid, the stock wing base only comes out about 5 inches onto the trunk.

The b-wing does look pretty big. None on the pics show the front line of it where it meets the trunk. Front to back that wings gotta be 1 1/2 feet! It does look like a cobra from the rear. If I do anything, I'll probably just pay the $ for the cobra - I have a good painter.

Non functional wings are fawking gay. I don't see why anyone would have a need to install a wing unless it was for a purpose, such as more downforce, handling, like the cobra R or the WRX STI. Unless it serves a purpose i woudn't bother with it.

if you're saying "non-functional", then you are really talking about any mustang spoiler. Whether the stock one or even the basass cobra one, theyre all non-functional. None of the normal street cars of ANY kind EVER need a spoiler to be functional. Its all for looks. The cobra one looks cool and all, but honestly, it serves no function performance-wise. If anything, mine IS functional, but only upon hitting 120(and no, I'm not joking) the steeda website says it, but then again I really dont hit 120 very often.

Thanks, its the Saleen s281 WING. If you can look in ebay and purchase one with the whole truck as I have seen some up only problem is finding one in your color without damage.

I know the cobra wing isn't functional, I just like the look. Damn, the b-wing does cover a lot of the trunk lid - they might as well have covered the whole lid, it may have looked better. I'm gonna try to get an estimate tomorrow to see what it'll run me to install a cobra.

The Cobra wing may cover the holes from a previous wing, but I'd still get them filled. However, there are only two bolts on the Cobra wing - once you get the wing, light assembly and paint it could run you upwards to 1g. You can check junk yards for Cobra deck lids... then just have the whole thing repainted (which might save you time and money).

I just picked up a Cobra Decklid with Wing and Brake Light for $300 off ebay. Its even in my color

After shipping, it still only cost me $440... much less than getting my decklid prepped for a Cobra Wing.

The deals are out there, you just gotta wait it out.

I picked up side skirts too.
