Iphone 4 or Droid X, what should I do.
K, so, I got an upgrade coming to me next month and im finally gonna make the jump from my LG Dare, to a smartphone, im hella excited about it. As of about 3 weeks ago, it was no question, i was getting a Droid X, but, of coarse, Verizon has officially announced that as of Feb. 10th i can get me one of them new fangled iphones on my favorite wireless provider. I swear this has been one of the hardest decisions i have ever faced(Isn't that sad). So, after a good bit of research and a facebook post asking my friends this same question, which turned to war between some fanboys, I ask you, in the words of the late, great Lebron James, What should i do?
I am staying with Verizon
I am spending only 200 duckets, so either the 16gb Iphone or the 8gb internal, 16 gb SD Droid
I will be storing music on my device, alot of music
I will be taking many pictures and videos on my device
I am not really interested in the front facing camera on the Iphone
I am looking for what has better function and practicality and of coarse a longer lasting battery
Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Then it really depends on if you want a giant 4.3" screened phone in your pocket or not. Battery life should be null because no matter what, you will have to charge every night and keep it plugged in while your in the car. They will last a good 2-3 hours with heavy angry bird use. Standby will obviously be longer as long as you keep the GPS and wireless stuff off.
They both do everything that you can think of and practicality comes down to the size.
You can sync music to the iphone from iTunes but the droid is more of a storage device.
I also understand the need and want to stay with a 3g phone. 4g phones are going to cost more and the data blocks are not really price friendly especially if you HAVE to buy a minute plan with the phone. However the rumor is that these phones will be 4g compatible with an update.

i have the droid incredible and will be trying out the iphone 4 when it comes out. The only thing bad about my phone is the battery, will not last past 3 or 4 pm no matter what i do. You usually have 30 days to return the phone if you dont like it or something, im not sure if that still is in effect with the iphone 4..?

For one, if you want the iPhone, don't get it now. There will be a new one out in like July so you'll just be using an old phone. If you decide to go with a droid, then again wait until April or May or so. Motorola is releasing the Droid Bionic on Verizon sometime around then. 4.3" screen, tegra 2 dual core processor, 4G capable, etc etc. It will make the Droid X look like a pansy. That's most likely what I'll be getting when I upgrade.

I was going to say the same but prices and such still havent been officially released both for 4g and phones. I quickly scrolled through droid-life to get sort of aquainted with whats going on with HTC, Samsung, Moto and Verizon. Right now all the talk is about the HTC thunderbolt. However, I would still wait on the phone upgrade dont waste it because its your last one, ever!

iphone use to be a freakin awsome fun phone. now with the newer android phones the iphone seems kinda plain. i mean how has it really changed that much from the first one. i think the layout and user interface is just so plain now compared to all the other new stuff comming out.

I forgot to mention that my current phone is in the process of shitting the bed and thats the main reason im getting a new phone next month. Also im not too concerned with it being a 4g phone, being as my current phone is not, 3g will be a great improvement. Plus like stanger said, its rumored that both phones will be 4g ready with a firmware update. I am however, concerned with price. I knew about the new droid coming out and im not surprised the iphone 5, or what ever it will be called, is coming out soon, but i think 200 is gonna be my limit for a phone and both of those phones will surely surpass that number. And again, i expect my phone to finally crap out any time now so time is kind of the essence. lol

After rebates and everything, I'm sure you can get one for $200. I'm just saying that if you can upgrade, why not wait just a little longer and get a kick *** new phone. The Droid X is a cool phone, but there's something even better not too far off.

Exactly. There will be rebates and then there will be the shysters that will post up discount codes to knock off more money. I used my broke screen LG for over a month before I used my upgrade.

At this point im leaning towards the iphone, simply because i've played with it a bit more than the droid x because i know a lot of people who have 1 and I know i would be happy with it. I think im just gonna go to the verizon store and play with the display models there for like 10 hours and go with my gut. I don't know why this decision has been really hard for me to make. lol
