Doesn't really that comfortable to hold. Not really a fan anyways. I will give the iphone credit that it has the best touchscreen, but other than that it doesn't do anything other phones cant. It has a **** ton of apps, yes, but that doesn't make the phone. Just my $.02

 

Id get an ipod touch before id ever get an iphone...its just too damn big to use as a cell phone.

I literally messed with the droid for 30 minutes yesterday and it is not better than the IPhone. Not a chance.

i got an ipod touch and its amazing,, id love to have an iphone just cause they can do so much! but the problem is you always need to carry a charger.

 

Only reason i want an iphone is for games. Otherwise eh, but i do like the new one much much more.

 

I never said the droid is better, just the android system.

The best thing. It's FREEE!!! After paying a snit-ton of money you don't pay even MORE for apps. I get android apps fo free.

 

Eh, I'm gonna keep my 3GS until I somehow break it. When it does, I'm gonna switch to an android phone. I like the iphone, but I really can't stand how locked down they try to keep everything. The fact that my phone has to be jailbroken to do anything cool seems stupid.

Like the whole Verizon deal. Verizon said no to the iphone almost three or four years ago, before it came out on at&t. They did this because of the higher cost and because they thought no one liked it. Now they do want a contract, but Apple is too stuck up to give in.

I say **** them. Apple has always been the aristocratic dicks of society, let them kill themselves.

 

I'm not going to get into the whole Apple/Steve Jobs vs Google/Android because both systems (to me) are top of the line. Personally, just from being more familiar with the Apple way of doing things [from owning iPods since the 2nd gen ones], I would probably lean more towards getting a form of iPhone than an Android. Though after tinkering around with one it seems very cool and different, but I'm a sucker that doesn't like change. So I vote iPhone.

Now to the OP, that's a cool link. I hope it's true because my only problem with the iPhones of now are that they seem too much like an iPod for me. The rounded edges for example just add enough bulkiness for me to not be interested in it. I very strongly feel like a phone should look/feel like a phone. So if that link turns out to be real, I may finally join the iPhone crowd.

I hate Apple...and Steve Jobs... but... I got a 32GB 3rd gen iPod Touch yesterday. and the **** is pretty badass. Still would never want it for a phone though. I think as a phone, the iPhone is gas as ****.. Makes more sense having the platform as a toy/mp3/internet tool than a phone...exactly what the touch is.

 

Someone who has an iPhone, please explain to me why its the coolest thing? Please, give me some examples. I've played with them, my wife has an iPod touch which does everything the iPhone does minus the phone part and I don't see whats the big deal over any other good smartphone out there. Lets hear it, give me some reason.

By the way, if it wasn't for Microsoft, Apple would have floated down the ******* a long time ago.

Oh good god, not this again. Is this the monthly Iphone vs every other phone thread. Is the xbox 360 vs PS3 thread next! ha ha ha. It's all personal preference....I prefer my Iphone for "messing around"....apps, games, internet, ipod ect.....my blackberry is MUCH better for e-mail and actual phone service.

I think the actual story is pretty funny. A guy left a prototype iphone in a bar! Any chance that dude gets to keep his job? ha ha

My whole point is that the iPhone is just an iPod Touch with the phone function added in. Yet they charge you more a month than any other phone?!?! Get a real phone (Blackberry, Android, Palm) and then go buy an iPod Touch. It's a waste of money.

Exactly. Now I really don't give a crap what phone people have, but I really want someone to tell me why their iPhone is the greatest thing known to man. I see so many older people with the phone and it makes me wonder if they got the phone cause its the "cool" thing to do or what. They can't possibly be playing games and downloading a bunch of useless apps.

 

I can't speak for everyone, but those "useless apps" are a big plus for me. Sometimes you need some really ridiculously stupid app/game/etc to get your mind off of the crap going on in the world. Hell, I can't even begin to count how many times I've had a bad day, threw on some tunes and played "Words With Friends" (Scrabble for the non-iPod Touch/iPhone'rs). Lame and stupid, sure...but sometimes lame and stupid is just what the doctor ordered.

I understand the stupid apps are fun sometimes, hell I play em too, but is that what makes the phone great? What if there were other phones that had the same apps, same features, what sets the iPhone ahead of everything else? I'm just curious here. My friend is a big Apple supporter these days and thinks his iPhone is the greatest thing ever, but nothing he has shown me on it impresses me cause my phone can do it too. Just wondering thats all.
