Default Where's My Dinner Woman?

I was thinking, there should be an App or some program where you can list the supplies and ingredients that you have available, and it provides you possible meals you can make. Pure profit.

Amanda is working late, and of course, I didn't think to thaw any chicken or hamburger. We're moving next week and have been letting the fridge and cabinets go a little bare to limit the amount of things we have to move to the new place. So I don't have much that is easy to make.

Anybody else spoilt by good dinners cooked by their significant other? I've been living with her for three years, she has become a good cook and has some good staples that we enjoy. When were at the grocery store, I look at other people's carts to see what they get to give me ideas of what I can cook. Kinda weird, I know. I actually prefer her meals more now than my own Mother's. We got a Weber charcoal grill this past weekend for the new place, should be nice to grill some steaks and chicken on.

just saying. lol.

well I live at home with my parents during the summer and my mom is an awesome cook, so I get real spoiled during the summer with nice home cooked meals every night, but then when I am away at school the rest of the time, meals just don't seem as good. And agreed on the grill, me and my roommates found a grill last year and it is soo much better than cooking on a stove top. Just seems easier.

For one thing. Having a home cooked meal everynight is uneccesary. Just cook enough food on the weekends like I do, and go from there.. Cook some extra steaks on the grill or chicken too. Thinly slice them for sandwiches, during the week.. You can vacuum pack cooked food and freeze it, (up to a few months to a few years) for boil in the bag goodness during the week.

Plus you can keep cooked food in the fridge for up to 3 days before it starts to get iffy. No more than 4 days.. unless you freeze it..

Just remember, you don't need a 5 course meal everynight..

Grilled Ham and cheese samwich is good eats for lunch or dinner..

I'll sometimes do that. Make enough food for a few days. Works great with pasta and such. I'll make a quite a bit and then I'm set for lunches for the week. I'm the cook in my house and sometimes I get tired of it, but being summer now, I almost make all my meals on the grill. Hell, I even cooked tots on the grill once. Just throw them in some foil and you're good to go.

I guess Im lucky...I could live off of grilled cheese, burgers, spaghetti and breakfast food for ever. All cheap and easy to make. But an app that takes what ingredients I have and compiles recipes from it would be awesome.

You should look into that bro. I mean I know the internet can tell you basically anything you need to make a meal with what you have on hand. Alot of good stuff I've made is just from throwing stuff together, and experimenting with different flavors. Not sure of any apps like that, but google's got it covered for anything up to and including the lowly spamburger, or bologna burger... Fried bologna FTMFW, if you got 5 mins to get something to fill your belly for the day..
