Last week I went with a buddy to check out a 2010 GT and the dealership had a 2011 GT in the dark grey color sitting right there outside. They had two 2010 Roush's inside, a 540, and 427r. I guess they had something last thursday with Jack Roush.

I really wanted the new 2011 Stang, but I have to face reality. I'm 50 yrs old and everyday at work is getting harder on my body. I've got 31 years in the concrete jungle, or factory for any who doesn't work in one. My 401K was tanking for a few years, but is now making money. My 04 GT is paid off, with only 29 K miles, and still in VGC. I'm just gonna keep her and be happy.

I just want to focus on paying off my house, and hopefully save enough to retire at 55 or so..

At work they want me and my 3 main coworkers ( we are all 50 or older) to perform like we're in our 20's. I can't do that anymore without suffering at the end of the day. Plus, I can get a meager pension from 3 different Company's who owned us at one time or another..

Anyway, if I can save enough to retire at 55, and my wife works till she's 55 or so, Then my sociable security can kick in at 62 or so, and I will be able to walk when I'm that old.

In other words. ******* work is killing me.. LOL.. New cars are for you young people, and for rich people. That ain't me... unless I can hit that godaam lottery...

I like it and all, but I will never sell my car. I have wanted a mustang since I was around 9 or so. I will just make mine even faster and faster as time goes on. I am just waiting for it to toss a rod so I will have to build the motor and do more work.

You should start building the motor now Dustin. Assemble it piece by piece until it's done and then hit your beast with a 175 shot and see what happens

I've always wanted to make my GT faster and I still do. But once again I've got to live in the little world I created for myself and my family. Right now I could afford to mod her but it isn't feasable for me, just because I want it. Godaam, as it is now I can't let my stang eat for very long without speeding, and with a red Stang, Cops always look my way. I can't afford a fcking ticket for doing 90 in a 45.

She's a DD and my only transportation too. And my wifes and my work schedule are so different, there isn't any pick me up and drop me off for either of us. Plus I gotta get my son something to drive soon. He at least deserves a car to get him to and fro. So we don't have to do it.

New Mustang will most probably not be in my future. Or any performance mods as well, That's ok with me. I got a pool, and a loving wife, And a nice car. Not bad for a middle class old fart. IMHO...

 

I felt the same way about my 03.. wanting to build it up. But I'm not to the point where I drive a lot more and I can't bring myself to get a true crappy daily driver. This is probably the only time in my life where I can be a little selfish and afford it so I'm going for it I plan to keep it mostly stock besides maybe a little exhaust and CAI until its paid off.

In other news.. my dealer said my car should be built sometime next week according to their Ford rep!
