Default well well ...

went to GreenWay Ford in Orlando today and other places to find me a car. Found a 2000 black auto GT with 66K miles...they wanted 14999, when me and my dad heard that, he almost flipped out. Only probs are that it needs new window tint, 2 SMALL chips of paint (can get bra cover), and the driver door RADDLES when it shuts(dealer said they'd fix it) and a small buff mark on the front end. Has black leather interior and mach system. My dad was able to talk him down from 14999 to 10500, I love the car, took it for a test drive, and i loved the difference between it and my 98 v6...lol

do you guys think 10.5K is good for what i described? thx...

10,500 seems like a pretty decent deal.

Whats the trade in on your car? Was that included? Tell them to fix the door and slap a warrenty on it and call it a deal. Dont forget about taxes, tags, and lisence plate. That isnt included in the deal. That better give you a damn good deal on your trade.

Try to find a 5spd, I mean if you want an auto then go for it. Don't just get it because you drove it and it's close to what you want. Well, what I'm trying to stay is if its not exactly what you want then find something else. Anyways, I paid 8500 for my 99 5spd with 73k miles and clothe interior.

auto's kick **** if you mod them correctly but maybe I'm biased :shifty:

Get a carfax or something especially with the problems you mentioned. A lot of dealerships now a days will include one for free if there's a serious interest in the car.

Naw no bias here...i've driven manuals and autos. I enjoy my auto especially in daily driving. I like manuals as much as the next person but I cant take a whole lot of it while i'm at work. BUt hey its all a personal opinion not to mention the 4R70 tranny is pretty sick it can handle as much as the engine can put out.

Don't get it. Don't settle for it or just jump on it because you're excited. I PROMISE that you'll be happy you waited when you find that "perfect" one. Seriously, that thing sounds like a piece to me, the only perfect used car is the one that you don't say stuff like "It's a little messed up here and there, BUT it's only $xx,xxx!" No matter what, you're going to come across things wrong with a used car that you didn't pick up on before you bought it. So if you start out with 3 or 4 problems, down the road it'll have 5 or 6.

If thats the case bump down the price a bit more then no worries but make sure you get a warrenty just to make sure its all cool. Also make them flush the tranny while their at it....make the dealer you bitch not your self you want their car they gotta do something for you.

Just make sure everything is cool...i'd also ask them to put it on a lift so you can inspect underneath yourself......thats what I did......I'm very careful on the cars I buy...dont take any chances..and work out all kinks in the deal try to get as much out of it as possible without raising the price.

one thing is, they r giving me the option of taking the car home for a day to "test drive" it FULLY and basically look at everything myself...my dad is going with me, and he's a mechanic soo he'll be my inspector...so far he said it looks good, and is fast..lol//he wants to make sure the tranny is well and nothing will fall apart

You need to be more precise in the terms ,"what you are looking for". Narrrow it down to what you will settle for. If a couple of paint chips are no problem for you, then go for it. But make them come down on that price a little more.

I know you cant wait to get another stang but take your time. Even if you find something perfect after you buy it you will come across a better deal later.

Those chips may not be a big deal now, but will become an eyesore to you as time passes. I'd look around. car bras are the gay.

yeah I think you maybe able to drop them down a bit more.. I understand what you mean about not being able to buy private party. I absolutely had to buy mine from a dealership to get financed, that's the only thing I love about car dealerships

To me, the price seems a tad high by about $1000 - $1500. I think stang prices have really kept their value or even gone up recently...it is confusing, but I think the 2005's have thus far been good to the rest of us.

Consider this, I have had my 2000 GT Vert for three years. I paid $15,400 for it three years ago with 37k on it....got it from a dealer. Perfect no, but clean and in comperable shape for the miles.

If the car you are looking at is $10k, then hell, mine should be 12-13k now (same miles as this one). I am not accounting for my mods.

If you like the car and 10k is good for you, then go for it and don't look back. Only you know what people are trying to get for stangs where you live.

If it were me, I would be trying to find one with less then 50k on it or even 40k. Why? Because people who put less then 8k a year on their cars ALWAYS take care of them. BUT, finding one with low miles like that won't be easy either and most private owners have a hard time parting with a car that they babied.

I dunno, my car according to KBB isnt worth CRAP. Of course, they dont account for the fact that its a 35th anniv. but still wtf gives. Now, I know I could get much more for it, because well, thats mustang tax. Just kinda pisses me off, cause if I ever wanted to trade it in, they'd screw me.
