Default Looking For Another GT - Insight Needed!

I didn't really announce it on here because I haven't got around to it, but I totaled my '00 GT. Went to pass a car ahead of me and a big rig in the rain, downshifted, got on the gas a bit too hard obviously, and lost control sliding right into the back of the 53' trailer. Did a number to my car and elbow but I'm ok. Hindsight sure is a bitch and I have an immense amount of respect for the T-Lok now but what's done is done. Anyways, I'm looking for another GT; perhaps you guys can steer me in the right direction with your wisdom!

I would like to spend around $13k as that puts me in the right boat financially so with that said, I've narrowed it down to three choices locally. I was going to buy Yellowstang's DSG, but Indiana is a bit far and he already sold the car. I don't want to buy from a dealer due to the higher prices and lack of car knowledge. I've been looking on Craigslist and found these:

http://buffalo.craigslist.org/cto/1761451060.html

http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/1763982103.html

http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/1743684461.html

I'm not sure if I have a clear question for everyone here but rather I'm just looking for ideas and whatnot on where I should go. Clearly I want another mustang. I got bit pretty damn hard in the *** but I'm back on my feet and willing to give it another go. Obviously I also want a 5-speed with low miles and I also want leather since I'm going to be spending a bit more buck anyways. The first link does not have leather and I was thinking I could look for seats over on Svtp but that is proving to be quite a pain.

The second link is a pretty sharp, clean car, but the entire undercarriage, door jams, and part of the inner fenders were coated with an undercoating and it looks like ****** on the door jams and under the hood.

Last but not least, the DSG link coming in third is everything I want and more, but his asking price is a bit high. He said the lowest he will go is $13, but KBB says $12k even in excellent shape, which it is. All asking prices are a bit high of course but I'm not sure how far I can windle each of them down.

Thoughts?

I think the first one is the best deal. Good Luck!

I didn't read the thread, but I'd so take the first one.

Well the first one says Cobra Rims and they are not, they are Chrome Bullitts from what I can tell...and the 2nd one looks awesome, I would take that one if it werent with all that you said and you could probably knock him down to 12.5k maybe... The 3rd and final one well I'm bias...

Why dont these people list the actual miles when selling these vehicles or links to larger pictures so you can see them in more detail?

Talk to all of them and be up front that you are looking a multiple vehicles and you want to get the best deal. Try to get them to come down I would bet that you could get at least one of those cars for 11.5k or less if you are patient.

Black owns all. Get the first one. Leather seats aren't anything special anyways.

I love my leather seats, but it sucks in the summer because when I wear shorts, my legs stick to them.

I'd discount the second one if you think the coating looks like ****. Narrow it down to the other two.

If you really want the last one and it is everything you are looking for, maybe you should just suck it up and pay the extra. If you get that black one, you're going to have to pay to get leather seats, anyway, if you want them bad enough. Plus, that 3rd one has extremely low mileage and looks like it has been well taken care of.

I'm sure it's due to different market, but around here 13K can get you a Mach1. But, thoes are some really low-mile GTs. I'd take the third one if the guy came down to a reasonable price, which he should. I wouldn't buy the second one due to the painted on underliner, that's crap. The first one looks like a good car, but I love my leather. I've got grey leather seats and they don't get hot and are in great shape. But cloth will look better longer in the long term.

To those that say the first black one, the car does indeed have 17x8" Chrome Bullitts not Cobra wheels. The problem though is is that the chrome finish is in pretty bad shape and won't make the cut for me, meaning I'll have to have them re-plated or purchase all new wheels together. Also, it lacks the package I want. Clean car though.

Exactly what I figured Val. I thought I could pick up a used set of leather GT seats over on SVTP, but that proved to be more expensive than I thought; might as well start with the Deluxe or Premium package (whichever it is, I'm not sure if the packages were the same in '04 as they are today). But the car is absolutely mint, it really is and if I'm going to be making a bit of an upgrade from what I had before, I want the leather fo sho.

One of my good friends is from Houston and he said the same thing. I guess that's just our market up here. Hell even a '99 with about 70k miles was going for 9 locally.

I ended up settling on the DSG one for 12.5k. Value was 12.1k but if you saw the car in person you'd give the extra 400 too. Overall I think I made a pretty sound decision. Was kind of nervous as I've never negotiated for anything for than a bag of mangos or some blankets when I went to Mexico a few years back. Only thing it needs is to have the tint on the dot matrix on the rear window fixed; it doesn't look quite perfect like I would like.

Hopefully will be picking it up this weekend but I have to wait on the bank eh. Pics are incoming though folks thanks for the input!
