Default HTC Hero... Anyone have this?

I just upgraded from my POS instinct a couple of days ago to the HTC Hero and I have to say, based on the reviews posted on the interwebz I'm not terribly impressed.

The phone really isn't user friendly at all, it's kind of like they just took a bunch of crap and threw it on the phone and didn't really think it out too well.

Anyone else have one of these things? How do you like it?

I'm rocking the HTD Droid Incredible right now. I really like it, super fast and simple. I left my AT&T to look for better and faster service in my area but really didn't want to lose my Iphone. But now that I've made the move, I'm much happier. Don't know much about the Hero but I highly recommend the Incredible.

Yeah I'm on the incredible right now. Best phone ive ever had personally. Internet is so quick and apps are ridiculous. I've had zero problems yet.

I downloaded the new ROM last night and it is 1,000,000x's better than the old one. Also downloaded HTC's App killer and the battery life it wayyy better than what it was with the other app killer that I had.

The contact backup wtih Gmail is cool, plus it pulls in all of your Facebook contacts, even if you didn't have their phone numbers in your phone before. Still have to get used to it and keep messing around with it to get used to it, but so far I'm far more impressed since the update.

I have to say that the best feature about this phone is the ability to configure it to your home router and use your wireless interwebz or just use the USB to internet share. This makes downloading apps or backing up your phone so much easier than before, plus if your watching TV and don't want to get up to check your Email, you have broadband speed through your router.. Pretty cool.

Yeah I was gonna tell you about the new rom's and cooking, but I don't know what stopped me. Probably because I have the HTC Touch Pro and soon HTC Touch Pro 2.
I was gonna get the Instinct, but I want something with a full keyboard and at the time HTC Touch Pro was rated better then that phone and iPhone.
I'm still debating if I want to put the Droid System on my phone or not. :/

I have the hero... BAD *** PHONE!

Runs linux, I can haz root. Free apps till hell won't have it. Better screen than iPhone, smaller, lighter, better battery, can turn OFF GPS. It's the little things.

I'm a sysadmin, so my choice of phone is very specific to my needs for my job. Having Linux on my phone makes it 1000000x more powerful.

I too, have the Incredible and it's so ******* badass. **** iphones. This thing is awesome, it's so freaking fast when I OC the processor that I'm pretty sure it guesses what i'm going to do next and does it before my finger ever even touches the screen.

Android all the way. You can always expect google to do it right.

I have Verizon and the Incredible looks pretty sweet. I still love my Palm Pre Plus though and my contract isn't up until next May. Mine also runs Linux and there are tons of patches and such they take no time to load and make the phone even better. The overclock patch I have is awesome.

You'll love it. It's well worth the wait.

Get a free AppKiller and SpareParts and then you'll have the battery life to boot also.

Is the appkiller available in the market or only when you get the phone in stores?

AdvancedTaskKiller, best task killer for android. It's in the "market" and it's free.

welcome to android. I am rocking the G1 since last summer and love it. I can't wait until I can upgrade and start running android 2.2 and get something with a little faster processor and way more internal memory, but even as is, I love my G1.
