Default sold the v6-looking for a GT (at least)

SO i sold the v6 after beign spanked by a 350z..

not that i am constantly racing but i would like to have something that feels more like a muscle car and can still drive it every day.
I was crusing one night and this 350z with some ugly 20''s pulled beside me
long story short: he kicked my ***!

I loved the way it looked and handled but it was just not fast enough

I am now looking for a nice gt or a saleen, bullitt, mach1, roush, cobra or else.. 99+! MANUAL TRANS

i wondered if any of you guys have an inclination for either of this cars.. or own one.

I was looking at an 01 bullitt here in town with 54k miles for $9500 which is around the price range that i could afford.

any input will be apreciated.
thanks

Buy something cheap with a good starting point and build the **** out of it. I wish I would have started that a long time ago, not that I would ever give up my Cobra.

So your v6 got spanked by a 350z?
Did you expect the outcome of that to be any different?

well I did not expect to win but it made me realize that it was time to get something better.

I was planning in getting something else but
My cousing just got an 03 black gt fully loaded with mach stereo 6cd changer, leader, 5 speed, cobra wheels, 76k miles, i mean, the car is fkn clean
and sounds so nice
so i decided not to settle for less than a manual trans v8

Umm..... Wha?

GT Bumpers, honeycomb grill, side scoops, standard skirts, standard mirrors, pretty sure that's a 99-00 GT spoiler on a standard trunk lid and some wierd cobra wannabe cowl hood? Someone spent an awful lot of money making that "Cobra" look like a GT....

I would either get a semi-stock Mach, or Cobra if you're wanting a fast car that responds well to mods.

And as already stated, without gears and full bolt-ons a 99-04 other than a Mach or Termi will lose to a 350Z as well.

I'd personally want a cheap non-modded Mach or Cobra and then like shad0ws said, mod the **** out of it. I wish i would've bought an older Cobra as my first car, because now it would be a ******* beast. Buying a fully modded car isn't any fun to me, UNLESS it is going to be used at the track.

If I bought r3d's car it'd be going to the track every weekend, but would not be my daily car.

I don't know what world you live in, but they can't hang with a 99-04 GT. They are a high 14 sec car at best stock. Trust me I have raced a good number of them. And I have lost to some also. However the ones I lost to all were turbo cars making good power. A bolt on 350z isn't gonna hang with a PI headed 2v.

**** that Cobra. Repairs on it are expensive as ****, I would know. Find an un-wrecked Cobra and I say hell yes. A front-end collision Cobra is pretty much fucked. Heat exchanger is fucked, radiator, probably the pulleys and everything as well. Probably has the trans, etc. pushed back.

No thanks.

Get a older car then you will have more money to dump into it to make it dirt nasty. Get a 96-98 4v, add 150shot or vortec or procharger kit and some bolt on's and it will rip all day.

Idk Spike, alot of the 350s out here are in the high-mid 13s stock.

And buying a SN95 and doing a PI swap with a blower or turbo or nitrous would be badass. Was recently thinking if I can't find a nice foxbody I may find myself an sn95 and do work again..

LOL! That is a rip-off. There is no reason for that car to be worth 25k.

Do not buy that car. You can get an 04 Cobra with less that 30,000 miles for under 20k.

Get the GTO or the lightning. I really wish I had bought my buddies GTO instead of my GT. Those things are ******* beastly, but would suck on a road course.

Apparently putting a "Cobra engine with a super charger" in a mustang body makes it a SVT Cobra!
