Question Need thoughts on SLP exhaust

Guys,
I'm getting ready to add a cat-back and have heard SLP is solid and sounds awesome. My question goes out to fellow stang maniacs for your opinions on SLP's sound and HP gain. Oh, I'm a newbie so I haven't done sig yet. My mods on my '04 GT so far:

K&N FIPK
C&L Plenum
(i know, not alot yet but this list will be about a mile long in 3 months)

I was one of the first stangers to use the SLP Catback and I also have the catted X pipe. The quality is the best around. You will get 10 - 12 rwhp with just the catback. I have seen dynos. There are no mufflers with it, so it makes some noise. With the stock H pipe it will sound deep and burbly. If you like a classic, old muscle car sound like glasspacks, this is a good choice. It is also very useable for a daily driver. Very easy to keep quiet if needed.

The catted X pipe adds more volume, more hp, and brings the pitch up.

Cool! Thanks man. Question though, is it the type of noise that attracts tickets? I know the sound is aggressive which is what I want but I am a daily driver so alittle concerned with being too aggressive.

It's all in the RPMs... keep the RPMs around 1500 and you won't have any issues... I can drive around town (30 mph) in 3rd gear without many problems... early in the morning or later at night I'll drop it down to like 1200 RPMs in 4th and you can't hear it at all.

Well it is loud, but not loud enough to get a ticket I think. But you can control it with your RPMs, like stated above. If you go with an offroad mid pipe it will be really loud. It is a different sound for sure, not like the flowmasters. The quality is top notch, and the tips are really sweet. I had planned on getting some flowmasters installed, but decided to get keep my SLP catback myself.

On a scale of 1-10

Stock: 3

Loudmouth: 6

Loudmouth and SLP catted X Pipe: 8

Loudmouth and o/r X pipe: 12

Tickets should not be a problem unjless you drive like an *** with just the loudmouth or even with the catted X pipe for that matter.

Thanks to all the fellow stangers for the replies. I'm going to pull out the credit card and get the SLP cat-back from Mustang Tuning.

That would be my Cobra with the SLP cat back. I love it. And for the price, Borla can keep their Stinger system. I'm not a fan of rolled tips and the SLP tips are one of the best looking, if not THE best, on the market today. I'm so happy with them, I'm thinking of sending them a note and some pics of it on my car. Very good quality stuff!

I've got the SLP Loudmouth and love it. Mustang Tuning has the best price for it as well.

Can't wait to get the X-pipe!

umm now i know that the 4.6's are louder than a 5.0 stock for stock... my question is i have hear SLP exhausts on only 4.6's and that's is the basis for it being sooo loud.. but what does it sound like on a 5.0??? i have never heard one before and thisis teh catback i wanna get come spring time... is it jsut as loud or quieter???

I don't think SLP makes any parts for the 5.0

I have it without any cats with my o/r x and it is LOUD! but i think it would sound the same for a 5.0 because its basically like having straight pipes for mufflers so of course its gonna be loud. I think it will sound the same if not better with the bigger 5.0.

yea but take my bros car comapred to mine.. i have shorty headers with o/r h pipe and flows dumped.. pretty loud, but my bro has 98 gt with an 01 motor with L/T headers o/r x pipe and magnaflow magnapack.. his car is louder than mine... it's just a proven fact that the 4.6's are louder than stock 5.0s cause of their tiny very restricted heads as opposed to the 4.6's more free flowing heads.. but thanx...

The product seems to be really solid... but there is something I don't like about the "slappy" glass pack sound. And trust me, here in South Louisiana, EVERY CAR ON THE ROAD has that nasty glasspack sound. I'm tired of hearing it. lol

Default Power-Flo VS Loudmouth

All -

What are the differences between the new Power-Flo and Loudmouth SLP systems? I am getting ready to pick one up and would like your thoughts before I do so.

Any comments are appreciated!

thanks!

i love it. i have it with the mt off road x-pipe and it's extremely loud. i like it though when your racing it it's out of control. i moving to the catted mt x-pipe after the new year just to quiet it down a little. excellent exhaust for the price and it's stainless steel.

There is a video of the SLP in the video section. I've not heard the SLP on any stangs here in Dallas but I'm soon to install the SLP myself.

it really depends on the sound you want. i've had both exhaust systems with off road x pipes. the slp is more deeper and way louder, way louder and it's more of the old muscle car sound but not so much that it doesn't sound good on the new cars too. the flows aren't quite as loud but they have a real nice hollow sound to them pretty aggressive. i would like to hear the super 40's with an off road h or x. they are supposed to be deeper and louder than the regular 40 series muffler. i think they both sound great. as far as which is better i think it's a tie. it really depends on which sound you want. old car, very loud and deep and aggressive or all the same just not as loud and hollow sound rather straight pipe sound. i'd really like to hear a set of super 40's with an o/r/h or x pipe in person not a sound clip. anyone hear any yet?
