Housing and Area's to live
i have about a year and a half left of school and i have been thinking it would be good for me to start researching the housing market, areas to live, best areas for income, etc.
now im not dead set on living on my own right out of college. i will be living with my parents for a little bit so i can get a good financial base.
Right now i live in Chester County, PA. a fairly populated and rich area, but not too much to do.
Where are some places that have a good night life, fairly decent weather year round, access to water for jet ski/boat/fishing, a great nightlife, housing market decent, cost of living fairly low, income decent (im not one to complain about finances, but it helps when my mom works for a large mutual fund company (actually 5 mins from AM) and keeps me inline with my money). just remember, this isnt for another 3-5 years.
just start naming some places and i will look further into them. any advice from you guys about any of this stuff will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry can't help you. You're a little far away, but 3-5 years is a long time to be kinda looking around now. A lot can change in that time. The housing market for an affordable area now, could be not so affordable in 3-5 years. And the way the job market is now, a lot of companies are either looking for a lot of experience, or going with no experience, but paying them a lot less.
I would say just start looking around for companies that you might be interested in working for that are along the lines of whatever you are going to school for. Once you find the company, you can kinda look around the area thats nearby and see if it's something you like.

i realize that 3-5 is far off, but i have no idea what the housing market is like and want to get a feel for it. My major is energy business and finance so i have a fairly broad major. the emphsis is on energy, but i can pretty much go into any business environment and i feel i can do pretty well.
i was looking to Intern at Google in California over the summer, but we will see how that goes.

Right now, the housing market is definitely a buyers market, but loans and all that is still tough to get unless you have a good down payment. Most won't do loans unless you have close to 20% down now.

If you want all that, well , you can't really find all that. Else everyone would live there. You are in a generally good area to begin with, ( being the east coast) ( Not hating the left coast, everyone) Housing is cheaper and weather is good depending how far south you are, for either.
NC offers you RTP. which has lots of higher education career opportunities.
housing market is always good there, and nightlife is what you make of it.
But I'll bet you can find any of that in almost any state. NC is really a beautiful state to live. Plenty of Large lakes, Mountains, and beaches to boot. Ha Top that SC...
