Xbox died
Well I'm bored now so I decided to make a worthless thread telling y'all that my xbox just rrod while playing forza 3 today. I consider myself lucky due to the fact that it has lasted me forever because I bought it as soon as it came out. So I called up Microsoft and they tell my the warrenty expired and what not but I bitched and getting it fixed for free but not looking forward for the 2 to 4 weeks turnaround tho.

other than XBOX being killed that way, theres been tons of random banning being done from XBL. I thought that was kinda shitty, theyre telling everyone to buy new consoles... i guess microsofts trying to generate some revenue.

people are being banned from xbox live because they have modded xbox's and microsoft is not putting up with it anymore. I'm glad they're doing this because people who do **** like modding their xbox deserve to have to buy a new one

his is modded, he mentioned it was in the modern warfare 2 thread. Mine is modded but is giving me the PROD randomly. Im going to head over to my local game stop and trade that biotch in for a elite or equivelant x-box. I need to do this before mine really does give up.

I basically after the rep stated that I was sol I asked to speak to her superior. Then I told the guy that he would have to be some kind of idiot to not replace my xbox because it is a known problem with them more so mine since mine was one of the first ones produced. Just because I don't play mine 365 to make it happen sooner it was not my fault. So after talking to once again another superviser they agreed to replace it free of charge and sent me a ups shipping slip to send it off.

My wife 's Halo 3 Ed 360 got the 3 rings. Sent it to MS and have it back along with 1 month subscription. I think it was the few times that I had it in a cabinet that caused it to fail. My wife forgot to turn on fan that I had installed to circulate air out. When I opened the cabinet its was like an oven.

Because it's still better than PS3. If they fix it for free, then why not. I'm on my third since launch, although I only got the RROD once. The other xbox I traded in cause I still had the warranty and got the Halo edition. If mine broke once a year, I'd still keep getting another one. The same way I'm sure if your PS3 broke, you'd still get another one.

They aren't random bannings. Like other people said, they are banning anyone who illegally modified their xbox to play illegally downloaded games. Not that I don't download my fair share of movies/music, but if you get caught doing it, tough ****. Microsoft has plenty of revenue, and games is where the money comes in. They usually lose money the first few years on consoles and then eventually start to break even. Xbox has the largest game attach rate of any other system. Thats what brings in the money.

Yea mine crapped out once and it was out of warranty but they just said they would fix it for free. Paid for shipping and everything and I had it back within a week. I got the Ring Of Death.
I have to agree with 00blkstng.... If my xbox died and I wouldn't get it fixed I think I would just buy another one. PS3's just don't have enough games that I would be interested in playing. Although I am going to get one next month... Yea Christmas.

What you're saying is no different than Ford putting a ban on you driving on freeways or using parking lots if you've modded your car.
If I buy a piece of hardware am I not entitled to use it any way that I see fit so long as I do not cause harm to another or damage to property? Just a suggestion but you should really evaluate your stances on things carefully before you take one arbitrarily.
Simple hack or cheat hack?

My son's XBox 360 just quit on him also, but he didn't get the rrod, it just won't play certain games at all. New games at that. So they are going to fix it for free out of warranty also. Even though they have problems, I have to back Microsoft that they do take care of their 360 customers.
