Neo Geo anyone?

 

ive been thru some ps3's but they fix them pretty quick and ship it back for free, ive had my last ps3 for probably over a year now with no issues, in my opinion the ps3 is legit, there just so much u can do that it blows away the xbox, let me say that i dont no much about the xbox but from what everyone is saying the ps3 is at atop the charts in my book.

 

I had 1 xbox. Crapped out and got a full refund from the company warranty. Never bought a new one with the money. Never really had any interest since then. I now have no systems haha

 

Every game console has a marketplace, dumbass. How else would they all get DLC and demos and ****? It's just a HIGHLY common sense idea to have, considering how fast digital downloads are replacing all media formats.

About KILLZONE? That's your opinion. I, personally, think Gears of War blows hard ****. I played through the campaign with my friend, and some multiplayer. It was boring. It was cool as hell for like, the first ten minutes. After that, blowing people in half with shotguns just wasn't that exciting anymore. Plus, the graphics are odd. The people in that game look like huge mutated freaks with no necks and square heads. Gears just isn't my cup of tea. I tend to not enjoy most of the 360 exclusives, which is why I chose to go PS3 over it. I think PS3 has a much wider variety of badass games, and it has more features than xbox and wii. There is a reason why first class costs more

 

It is a fact that they do not beta test any of their products. They Alpha test to get the major in-your-face problems fixed...then it goes to stores.

Sony's PS Eye for PS3 can do all of that. Add that with the new motion controllers coming out next year, and we've got something extremly kickass coming our way

 

Considering how fastly our technology is advancing, im afraid to see "Video Games" when im 30 or so. Its kinda scary really.

 

dont worry, in 20 years people wont age anymore or die of natural causes, the overpopulation that is bound to happen will result in 2 living worlds, the real and the virtual. after 50 years of live on the real world people will retire to the matrix-esque lifestyle of living in a virtual planet, enjoying rich and fulfulling lives as thier actual bodies are encased in honeycomb style retirement homes. The people in the virtual world will lend thier mental abilities to help those in the real world, who will be the caretakers and stewarts of the systems that keep the virtual world alive untill they retire.

My son went through 3 x-box 360's, 1st 2 times Best Buy replace them for free, but we bought the extra warranty and the last one we got from best buy is still going strong. Although he doesn't play it 24/7 like he used to..

I wonder how many people who think PS3 is much better because it has Blu Ray, even has a HDTV to support the format.

It's your opinion to think PS3 has a much wider variety of badass games as you put it, but I would highly disagree.

You think Sony is the copier? PS3 gets a bigger HDD, 360 has to get a bigger HDD. PS3 gets HDMI, 360 has to get HDMI. PS2 gets Eye Toy, 360 has to get a camera. PS3 gets PS Eye, 360 has to get one (Natal, which does absolutely nothing the PS Eye can't do. And it's been out for a year or two >_> ). PS3 gets an exclusive game, 360 has to buy it out from them. 360 gets an exclusive game, PS3 has to do nothing because the devs choose to go multiplatform, Sony does not buy exclusivity deals. Great success

PS3 features that I can think of that 360 doesn't have:
-NO wired controllers, ONLY rechargable usb blutooth
-BLU-RAY (not just for movies. But it's great for games. Why do you think all of the 360 exclusives that were ported to ps3 have so much extra content/features? or the many multi-plat titles that have more content on the PS3 version? 50GB>8GB DVD fails.)
-FREE ONLINE. How much have you sunk into Xbox Live, Buddy? ******* hypocrite.
-Home
-Internet browser
-Custom themes
-PSP remote play (access PS3 through wifi on your psp. You can play any ps1 game, some ps3 games, access PSN store, and anything else on your hard drive)
-Install a different OS
-Option to upgrade to ANY 2.5" sata HDD. Sony supports this.
-Built in wireless internet. -4 usb ports, and a few other ports, i only use MS pro
-Blutooth
-100% backwards compatible. 360 backwards compatibility is a joke. half the games don't even work.
-VidZone (FREE music video service. think of any song. they have it)
-NO RROD! (best feature of all. I don't need a new console every few months! It's lasted for years!)

That's all I can think of atm.

I prefer Wireless.... lol....I have both and am still trying to decided which i like better... I like different thigns about both so it may be a draw.

Everyone copies everyone else at some point, but it justs looks better when someone does it first. It's funny how Blu ray discs can hold so much (not as much as they first initially claimed), but yet, the games don't really look any better than games on the 360. you can use wired on ps3.. the cables they give u are short, but its just meant to charge the controller.. get a longer USB to miniUSB and u can plug in and charge and play at long distances.. so u get the best of both worlds. I'm stepping into the console market soon, just for exclusives and im picking the PS3. I want little big planet, MGS4, continued final fantasy series, and some pHysX enabled games the xbox cant run. But im a PC gamer, i can update anything on my pc at any time, just want a console for the heck of it.

BASICALLY -- Im stepping down from being a PS3 major only. I've just decided its YOUR choice on what you want to get. You can get a PS3 for 300 have wireless and all that already built in and a 120 gig drive (which u can swap for up to 500 which is the biggest 2.5inch drive out unless things have change) blu ray drive etc. Multiplatform games that go to PS3 do get added content because more disc space and other than that ps3 and xbox360s similar because theyre both just to play games, u cannot notice the graphics differences between them unless uve been a PC gamer for as long as i have.. Nvidia and ATI both have different ways of running Anti aliasing and anisotrophic. But both are gaming systems and they play games.. get a 360 for 200 and buy wireless adaptor and ur at 300.. equal to ps3 less features. Its all what you like.

No it doesn't. Blu-Ray is one big gigantic scam formed by Sony. I can put a Blu-Ray quality movie on a regular DVD-R and play it in my Xbox. It doesn't even have to be Dual-Layered. But yet, you go out and spend $30 on a Blu-Ray disc because of it's "ohh so great picture quality".

The PS3 and Xbox BOTH can have any size HDD hooked up to them. I have a 256GB Solid-State on my Xbox right now, and a 640GB in my PS3. So WRONG there!

The only reason the game developers put extra content on the games that also got put on the PS3 was so PEOPLE WOULD BUY THEM!! No other reason. I went to a media conference here in KC about two weeks ago and met with almost every major game company out there for Best Buy and they all said this same exact thing. Look at Resident Evil 4, thats what they did. So people would buy it twice. Not because it wouldn't fit on a disc. LMAO! Thats the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. So WRONG once again!

Bluetooth has no real advantage unless you already own a bunch of bluetooth ****. I have a wireless keyboard for my Xbox that is the same one i use on my computer. When I want to use it I just move the USB receiver back and forth.

Installing a different OS....WTF are you talking about. ANYTHING with a hardrive can have an OS put on it. My ******* calculator for school has Linux on it.

I'm glad somebody else has a brain here. I have a 1TB hdd hooked up to my Xbox with about 65 blu rays on it. There's no way that a developer would actually use all 50 gigs cause the price of the game would be so jacked up. Would take games much longer to develop, therefore cost more for the discs. It is fun arguing with Fanboys cause you know you'll never get anywhere with them, but yet we keep on. haha.

Sony always over promises and under delivers. They aren't the Kings they once thought they were. Samsung is killing them in electronic sales, and they still lose money on PS3. Yes most consoles usually lose money, but thats usually in the first year or so. Xbox also has a much higher attach rate for games.

yeah. i only got the PS3 because of Gran Turismo. still waiting, the bastards. polyphony digital needs to release the game. they're like Valve when they release stuff....

im stating the things i know about the systems. they are both gaming systems and people try to make them more than they are, i think someone should pick things on what they feel more comfortable playing, both have user interfaces u have to adjust to and pick which u like, its just preference. but when it comes to a blu ray player it is a really good argument because theres much more to it than that. Im a A+ technician and i have my CCNA's from cisco. But to play a blu ray takes a POWERFUL machine. Using the H.264 codec to run a blu ray u have MASSIVE amounts of moving data. Like on older machines you may notice how they lagg on youtube, its not the internet its the pc. You can get a blu ray drive pretty cheap for a PC, But the pc has to have an upgraded graphics card to run the movies. Thats why they implimented it into a ps3. BUT i dont watch movies much, i dont care for the fact about the movie playability or anything, im not die hard like that. i just dont want to have to buy a new microsoft system after ive finally got one of the next gen systems just because the system can hold enough information on a disc. thats all it boils down to for me. that and the final fantasy series.


-- yes 360 should be able to have blu ray playback, it has an equivalent to a x1850xt ATI graphics card in it (comparing to PC) should be enough horsepower.

I just Got my PS3 and got MSG4 at the same time it was only $30 so i figured why not. Its cool and has good Graphics. I only Played one other MGS though anf that was Snakeater. I like it so far. From what i can tell i think both PS3 and 360 hav ethe same graphics. I to test it with the same gam eon both of them though but i could really care less lol!

 

Didn't you say awhile back you were a lifeguard? When I think of PC gaming these days, I think of annoying kids sitting in front of the computer for 10 hours at a time playing WoW or something. I like the fact that I can have tons of 1080P movies at the point of controller and in WMV format so I could play it on my computer if I wanted.

A single layer Blu-ray hold up to 25GB of data. A dual layer holds 50GB. On average, PS3 exclusives take up about 25GB of data. Resistance: Fall of Man was around 21GB, and Metal Gear Solid 4 took up the full 50GB dual-layered disc. It's a massive game. I, too, download blu-ray movies that are 1.5-3 GB in size. I also buy blu-ray movies from the store. The quality from the downloads are absolute ****. Anyone with eyes can look at a blu-ray movie and say "holy ****, that looks amazing." I don't keep bringing up blu-ray, YOU keep talking about it, I'm just arguing your "facts" about it.

Yes, 360 can upgrade it's HDD, but Sony supports and encourages people to upgrade their HDD for their PS3. All you have to do is pop it out and put the new one in. No modding required. Replacing your HDD in your Xbox that isn't a Xbox 360 HDD will void your warranty, and Microsoft does NOT support this.

About installing another OS. This is a FEATURE of PS3. Does the 360 have an option in it's menu saying, "Install a different OS"? I honestly do not know the answer, this is a legitimate question. If you do choose to install Linux, or any other OS, you can choose to boot the XMB or the other OS from start up. Again, a supported by Sony feature for PS3.

I am also not "anti-360" like you say I am. I have not said ONE negative opinion about Xbox 360 just to bash the console. I understand that people enjoy 360, and I respect that. You like 360? That's great! I am NOT against that. Everyone has a different taste. I don't try to convince people that "OMG 360 iS t3H SUxZ0rZ!!!1", unlike you two, who have been saying nothing but negative remarks about the PS3 only to try to show everyone why YOU think it sucks.
