Im done with Xbox.

I love the games, but the system is so goddamn flakey and unreliable that I took the plunge over to PS3.

I was happily playing DEAD SPACE on the "Xbox 3shitty" when i got the E74 error with the bottom right light lit up.

My first box had the red ring of death. I had a friend who worked at gamestop who just "forgot" to make sure the console workd before i traded it in. I upgraded to a 360 Elite, which is the one that just died.

My first XBOX is about 7-8 years old, it is in the basement in the kids play room and it STILL runs like a champ.

Why couldnt Xbox get the 360 right? How many revisions and releases and chips do they have to monkey around with before they can offer a decent product??

Good news is i wrapped it up in a towel ,overheated it, and it started working agasin. This is only a temp fix. So i took it to game stop (my buddy dont work there anymore so it had to work to trade in) and i got about $240 credit for the games, controllers, system, batteris, upgraded cables, and wireless adapter.

Bought a used PS3 40gig, a spare controller, Farcry 2, Fear 2, and Ratchet and Klank for my stepson.

Plus Tekken 6 will be out soon, and ill beat the **** out of ANYONE on here in ANY version of tekken, with ANY character. Yes, in Tekken i AM the master. Ive been playing Tekken for well about 14 years now, i know every throw combination with king, anna, nina, i know multiple 10 hit combos on every character, im the master of reversals. Im the Im the gigalo of Juggle Jabs, The grand daddy ultimate master of all things tekken. I went 3 years without playing it, and could still beat the *** of anyone.

Any of you ******* want to challange that, ill make sure i can get the online **** on PS3 figured out so i can whip yer ***.

That aside.

What else can i do with this ******* boat anchor? its huge. It is already setup for wireless, and i watched Wolverine in Blueray the other night. Fucklin A.

Im considering doing this, because yea, 360 is now outdated. Honestly if 360 doesnt start doing something right, im selling it. As of now im on my 6th 360, while had a normal xbox with no problems but i sold it.

Welcome to the darkside, Mwhahahaha!! Alright, now that you can...buy Grid and/or Dirt + Dirt 2 and you'll learn what a whoopin' really is. Get the last Metal Gear game, that was pretty sick (aside from the long as hell cut scenes)...Oblivion is also another MUST HAVE. GT5 Prologue was really good, but I'd wait until the actual GT5 is released before I'd get it. I've heard that Batman game is sick on the PS3 but I haven't tried it nor do I intend to because I'm not a fan of those types of games.

 

To get a taste of what you're new black behemoth can do, play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and KILLZONE 2. Xbox has NOTHING on those games.

You guys all have shitty *** luck. I still have my original xbox 360 that I bought from pre-order. Just have a pelican fan and that's it.

No problems, no lights, no failure.

I never had any extra fans or anything for mine. I had it for about a year and a half before I sold it and never had a problem. I even kept it on a carpet floor.

I definitely would have rather had a PS3, though. I just couldn't afford the extra $300 to buy one.

 

Mine have been on a well ventilated shelf..literally. No reason i should have this many crapping out.

 

It's all **** really. I mean no matter which way it goes both producers just want to beat the other. It's like quality doesn't even mean ****.

I had a guy at work today have one that would not play ANYTHING...like everything else worked fine. Put in Iron Man in blu-ray, which was on my flashdrive, into it and it did fine. But you put a disc in and it acts as if you never even put anything in. Called Sony and they were like ohh yes we have heard of this problem send us his console and we will send him a refurbed one in about 6-8 business weeks. Lol.

Then the guy next to him says should've bought a Wii. LMAO! He was severely vag-hurt at this point.

 

i have a PS3, still on the original one i bought. Micro$haft built the Xboxes pretty badly. just like Windows. i have no idea why the **** everyone keeps buying those pieces of ****. Jack, just bring a sledgehammer to it. be done with it. sledgehammer is your friend...


meanwhile, my Sega Genesis consoles ALL still work, well over 15 years old and played the holy **** out of. no problems.

 

I have a Dreamcast and I play that **** like once a week at least.

The games for that were ******* bad ***.

Too bad Sega got shafted and died.

As Windows being built bad you can't really blame Microsoft for that.

1) The people creating viruses out there are first at fault. It's like putting an alarm system on your car, but if someone wants to steal your car they're going to steal your car. Let Apple take more than 10% of the market and then they'll be ultra fucked with their "non-anti-virus needing high-horse crap"

2) The media rushed Vista. This is Microsoft's fault yes, because Vista was still very shitty built. A bunch of useless junk that makes it slow and fail.

Wait til Se7en releases. I have a full-version on my laptop right now, which redundantly has Snow Leopard as well and Se7en pwns Snow Leopard. I can still play Battlefield/Aion and do anything else I want while not having to worry about it.

 

Xbox fails. But Halo and Crackdown are still fun

 

You want to know why Microshaft sucks? They don't beta test ANYTHING! 98/ME/2000/XP/VISTA even the Xsucks wasn't Beta tested much.

I've heard that Windows 7 has had quite a bit of testing, but I still don't have my hopes too high. They Alpha test the crap out of their products and get the majority of their bigger problems, but as for Beta and Charlie testing products to get a fine product...it's non-existent in the Microsucks camp.

Put a Talismoon fan in and all your problems will go away. All the problems with the 360 are caused by heat. I was on my fourth XBOX360 and with the last new one I bought I put a Talismoon fan in and its been perfect since.

 

And I suppose Apple does? Oh wait, when Leopard was released they had the same issues. Buggy upgrades, faulty security systems, random shut downs.

No matter what they do people will find a way to complain, which in turn leads to other people complaining and so forth. Microsoft still produces a better system than anyone else. Sure it could be better, but it is what it is.

If you want to bitch about it switch to Linux. Then you can't get (or do) ****.

 

My boyfriend had something happen to his XBox about 2 months ago. He had a warranty on his, so we sent it in to be 'fixed' by the warranty company. About 3 days after he got it back, it fucked up again. That's when he received the E74 error. So we had to send it in... again. They called and said that they couldn't repair the E74 error and they couldn't send it into Microsoft to get fixed because they had already opened the console the first time it messed up. So, they sent him a $299.94 check for him to buy another XBox, which he did.

You could have sent that console to Microsoft and they probably would have fixed it for free. The warranty company said that an E74 error is a 'warranty issue' and that if my boyfriend would have received the E74 code first, they would have just sent it there to be repaired.

I know you're fed up and all with XBox, so all of this is moot, but figured I'd throw that experience out there for people who might go through the same thing.

I don't know much about Apple or their testing procedures, so I don't comment on them. Isn't this an Xbox thread anyways?

What I meant is that sure, Microsoft will have a good product after time...that's why it usually takes 6 months worth of updates before their products start to be legit. I'm just saying -- if Microsoft actually spent some more time testing their hunk of junk maybe less people would be switching over to the competitor.

 

I won't lie, Xbox has had some issues, but it is still a better overall system than the PS3. Has better games, more titles, etc. Really, the only thing that PS3 has on the Xbox is blu-ray....

I don't really have the time/patience/money to mess with either of them to be honest. Forking out $60+ per game is just crazy to me, I never get games when they come out, I wait for a good 3-6 months to get used copies @ gamestop...

Just to prove that point. I've had my 360 since the week after they were released.. I have five or six 360 games...

 

Really? tell me how Xbox is outdated? I can do a lot of **** on my xbox that PS3 can't do. Sony had to copy Microsoft on the whole marketplace idea.

Seriously? I would take Gears of War over Killzone 2 anyday. Yes Ive played Killzone, it's not all that great. Yes it looks good, but it's really not that great of a game. Controls suck, online sucks, and it's not fun.

Microsoft releases Service Packs to update their products, which by the way are FREE and DO fix some of the problems. After SP2 and 3 most bugs are fixed, which happens within the first six to eight months as you said

Meanwhile, Apple just recreates their OS, but yet keeps it almost identical. Except, they charge you for it. Then you're let down because all of they "hype" about the new OS is just a few new do-dads that are added and yet you still paid to have it.

Hmmmm...now that makes no sense.

While Microsoft releases the system, yet allows you to keep your old system and STILL updates and creates products for the new system, Apple relatively forces you to upgrade to the newest version of the OS. Especially if you have to upgrade hardware, or buy new software.

I just bought the NEw PS3 while i was on lunch... Now i still have my 360 The only reason i got a PS3 was because i was going to get a Blu-Ray player and figured i might as well just pay $50 more and just get a PS3 i have always been a xbox fan but did like the Ps2 i will let you know what i think.. i only got one game for it. MGS4 because it was only $29 so we shall see.
