The only time I speed is on the interstate, and at most I'm doing 80 (when the speed limit is 55.) That's 25 over, but the cops don't usually care since everyone is going that speed. Anything excessive that makes you stand out of the pack though, and they'll pull your *** over.

Pretty much. They lubs putting cameras in the construction zones at night. Anything over 45mph and you'll get a present in the mail.. (same goes for I-Pass users if they determine that you've been speeding.)

I've had a 66 in a 45 before and the ****, sorry, cop only wrote it up as general speeding instead of reckless. I should have prepaid it. But, I got the speedo calibrated and it was off. (after some tinkering on my part) The judge made a point of letting me know that the officer should have written me up for reckless and that he didn't care about a calibration record. He wouldn't even look at it. Then he gave me a big fat fine.
I also had an 86 in a 55. It was written as reckless and the first judge sentenced me to a weekend in jail. Luckily, on my appeal I got the attorney who was the son of the circuit court judge, so a different judge had to come in that day. He was from the big city and had to look at murderers and rapists all day. He must have thought a traffic violation was a joke. After waiting all day and being the last case heard, he held the case in his chambers and gave me a minimal fine. Then, before I got five steps out of his office he changed his mind and dismissed the case. This is almost the luckiest thing that ever happened to me and I won't forget it. But, it was a FREAK thing.
Don't think you'll have a judge that's high on prozac ready to set everyone free. If you actually go to court, you'd better throw yourself at the mercy of the court and you'd better lay it on thick too. But, don't expect him to see it your way. As much as I hate cops, you should thank that guy for not writing you up for reckless driving.

haha, that doesn't count. Just pay the ticket and deal with it. That's all you can do at this point. The judge will probably just laugh at you if you try and get it reduced. License for 3 weeks and ticket for almost going 100mph, ouch. Your insurance will be raping you considering how much some of the other members on this board with V6s are paying. Good luck with that one and next time, if you are already late, then there's no point to speeding.
