I'm assuming you got wreckless too, right?

If yes, screwed would be the operative word. Probably would need to get a lawyer to fight that one.

Dude, I'd pay the fine and run. Technically, the officer probably could have made it alot worse for you. Like, impound vehicle, overnight jail stay, reckless driving, and a few other stupid ones they can slap at you. I know, I've been there. Got busted for 100 in a 65 at night, they took my car, locked me up, and I had to see a judge in the morning. Not only did it cost me $150 to get my car back from the impound yard, I paid $500 in fines, plus community service, and lost my license for 6 mos. You got off easy.

Yeah, they definitely could have nailed you to the wall on that one.. You got majorly lucky there.. I don't think I would fight it, just take your licks and move on. Your insurance will probably jump up fairly significantly though, so be prepared for that. That's all dependant upon your driving record, if you have never been pulled over or anything, IDK. That may change things..

I got hit doing "85" in a "65" (speeding ticket only, no reckless) on the way home from vacation a couple of weeks ago, Highway patrol was sitting at the bottom of a 5% grade, I was basically just coasting down the hill in 5th and he pulled me over. I'm going to go fight it merely based on those facts and also the fact that I am 22 years old with no tickets or accidents, never been in any law trouble at all, hell that's the first time I've even been pulled over in 5 years (since I was 16.)

Well i think my main problem is goin to be i cant take it off my record. Im gunna try to call the judge probably and pull the learning card. Tell him to lower the ticket so i can take defensive driving and actually "Learn" from it, instead of just paying for it. And ive only had my liscense for like 3 weeks now... And yeah our rates are assfucked anyways, 2 wrecks in a week, and now a 300$ speedin ticket.

to be perfectly honest, the judge isn't going to budge on that. if you had your license for 3 weeks and you were driving nearly 100mph, thats negligence, not something that you need to learn from. be prepared to accept whatever punishment he/she hands down plus a significant bump on your insurance.

i got pulled over doing 100+ in a 65, had to go to court take an 8hr aggressive driving class and pay over 400+ in court fees and fines. now i'm stuck paying high *** insurance for another year b4 it begins to drop and that was 2 years ago that i got that ticket. your very lucky to just get a ticket and nothing else. pay it. period. unless you wanna spend the money on an attorney to just MAYBE lower the cost of the ticket and take the risks of the judge deciding a different penalty for you, if you go to court the judge gets to decide what you have to do/pay, so he/she can make it worse then what it is, and for a mere 300 bucks i wouldn't take the risk of losing your car, ability to get a job anytime soon, insurance *** raping you even worse, etc...

and 2 accidents and a 300 dollar ticket and you've had your license for 3 weeks...THEFUCK dude, slow down, take the time to learn. your not invincible and neither are the people around you, your going to kill someone at this rate. chill. driving is a privilege. and if you are that worried about it being on your record it will go away in 5 years. if thats the only 3 things on your record right now, take this as a reality check and keep it that way and slow the **** down. and you might get lucky and not get overly *** raped on insurance and yeah your not going to be able to get a job involving driving someone elses car more then likely.

so many of my old classmates have died due to idiotic driving, i dont think any of us want to read about you dying/killing someone in an accident. seriously see this reality check b4 you screw yourself more later.

Honestly, I've never driven fast just to make some sort of curfew, etc (but then again I happen to be a rather intelligent individual .) If it were a meeting or something I would just call and apologize and say that I am going to be late. Or in your case, I would just apologize to my parents when I got home and say something like "I didn't want to get a ticket for speeding, so I couldn't make it home by 11." Or something like that.. I'm sure it would have worked out better than getting a ******* $300 ticket, plus a possible raise in insurance costs. That was a stupid thing to do. BTW.. If you have any money left after you pay the ticket and cover the extra money for insurance, make sure you buy yourself a watch. It might save you some trouble in the future..

part of me believes you were just screwing around and driving fast and you're using this curfew thing as a way to try and pin this on your parent's curfew.

if that is what you're trying to do, i'll tell you now, that won't stand up in court AT ALL. judge doesn't care what your parents have setup for you as a curfew. all they care about is what you did. so really, even if you were trying to "beat the curfew", you were still speeding and that is all the judge is looking at.

I didnt wreck twice in a week, my mom and brother did, he wrecked his car, mom wrecked her car, then i got the ticket. Also now that i think about it i could have avoided it easily if i had slowed down and thought about it, coulda called ahead on my buddies cell phone or house phone to tell em was runnin late. (mine died, long story) And na i wasnt really speeding for the fun of it, i would do that when i could see or something. Either way im probably just gunna pay it and do defensive driving to lower premiums hopefully.

Edit: God i somehow buttfucked this post to make it take me 3 tries.

No, we all speed all the time we just dont run a hundred miles an hour because we are running late. Man, you need to learn that an impact of 100 mph in one of these "beer cans" is going to be your last one. Think about yourself and your family. Im not God dont get me wrong but "USE YOUR BRAIN".

Yes we speed but we also use our heads. Any halfway smart mother ****** would take a little lecture time for being late with their mom over a $300 speeding ticket and other penalties.

It's really not that hard to figure out.

I speed all the time, 5 over the limit, 10 tops. If I want to go faster then I'll have to find a race track. My kids count on me coming home every night, it'd be a real shame to tear apart their lives because I couldn't stomach being 5 minutes late.

BTW, the average speeding ticket takes 14 minutes to issue from the time the cop steps out of their car. The average amount of time saved by speeding 20 MPH over the limit (enough to get a ticket anywhere in the country even if the cop is being nice) is a tit less than 5 minutes. That's 9 minutes you wasted getting home. Bet mom was 10x more pissed about the ticket.

Sadly enough im lucky to get the 1 time a cops out where i live. 25minute outside of town this is a first..if i even considered there bieng a cop i woulda slowed down. And yeah again i guess thats one of those times where ya wish you could go back and change time by just a few seconds.

The only time I speed is on the interstate, and at most I'm doing 80 (when the speed limit is 55.) That's 25 over, but the cops don't usually care since everyone is going that speed. Anything excessive that makes you stand out of the pack though, and they'll pull your *** over.

with 3 weeks of driving experience i don't think youre qualified to make assumptions of where cops will and wont be. you have a lot of learning to do young grasshopper.
