Default Billy Mays DEAD!

No joke. Just got confirmed.

DEVELOPING: Television pitchman Billy Mays — who built his fame by appearing on commercials and infomercials promoting household products and gadgets — died Sunday, FOX News confirms.

Mays was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry to May's residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.

Mays, 50, was on board a US Airways flight that blew out its front tires as it landed at a Tampa airport on Saturday, MyFOXTampa.com reported.

US Airways spokesman Jim Olson said that none of the 138 passengers and five crew members were injured in the incident, but several passengers reported having bumps and bruises, according to the station.

Authorities have not said whether Mays' death was related to the incident.

"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times," Mays wife, Deborah, said in a statement on Sunday.

Jesus christ. Wonder what the hell happened. I can't see it being related to that airline incident at all. I need to give my buddy a call, he jams with Billy's son all the time.

I read somewhere else that he took a hit to the head from falling luggage yesterday but he said "I got a hard head" and went home fine. Then this happened. Crazy stuff.

Oddly enough, I won the dead-pool at work by being sarcastic and saying Billy would be the next to go ... on friday. My bad... didn't mean to curse him.

You suck, I loved that guy. I always suspected he'd die of a heart attack though with how worked up he is all of the time. But my vote for the next one goes to Patrick Swayze.

My guess is some internal bleeding or swelling of the brain from the plane accident.

That was my guess too on Facebook! He's not looking so good lately.

Damn. Billy Mays! Every time I saw the Awesome Auger, etc. commercial, I couldn't help but watch it. He just drew you in. What a good advertiser... and I heard Pitchmen was good but I've never seen it.

If David Carradine had died a week or so later it would have been four in a row

Don't forget Darrel 'Shifty' Powers, the only 1 of the five to have done something really great.

Actually I think Carradine falls into this. The first three were David Carradine, Ed McMahon, and Farrah Fawcett. The second set of three is Michael Jackson, Billy Mays and....Patrick Swayze? hmm?

Only one more to go

It makes me sad to see Patrick Swayze like that... just wasting away. It is horrible to see for me because it reminds me of my grandfather after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and wasted away for 10 months before he died.
