5.0 confirmed

I think this is the smae engine that I heard rumors of a year or 2 ago. Back then it was referred to as a "modular" 5.0, and I think it was supposed to be put into the all new Taurus and or Falcon to start off with.
I also THINK that this is the same engine that Ford Racing donated to Chip Foose and Overhaulin show. Not too long ago Overhaulin did a old mustang (think it was a '70) on the show and a guy from FRPP showed up and was telling all about Fords "new" 5.0 power plant.
Either way. . . . it looks cool as hell. 400 HP will rock too! Though it will probably get to the street with about 350-360 RWHP by the time you account for the driveline eating a few of those ponies!

From the things that I have been reading it looks like it could be a 32v and have an aluminum block
Edit: I hope they do use it to replace the 5.4 in the f150 and the 4.6 cause the more vehicles they put it in the more aftermarket stuff will come out for it quickly

The new F150's, etc., are supposedly getting the 6.2L Boss (Hurricane) engine shortly after they come out. An article I read a while back said that was the engine that will be replacing the 5.4. However, they make no mention of it in that article..

The 5.0 put in the stangs will not be a 32v I can almost guarantee it. The engineers from dad's work said that it was still going to be a 3v set-up for the base GTs with a good set of heads and a metal intake (not funky plastic like mine) that will push it out to 400hp at the crank. The GT500s will have a more built version of the motor named something else that will have a complete different bottom end for the addition of the s/c.
I told you guys a long time ago that's what ford was going to do. It just takes time. The 5.0 will hopefully offset the power difference between the stang and the other modern makeovers without upseting the price.

I haven't heard that, but I also heard they were getting the ecoboost engine. 3.5L TT 375ish hp

If you look up the story about the upcoming SVT Raptor, you can read about the 6.2L Boss engine. They said it won't be available right away, but it should be an option shortly after that truck is launched. They also said it should eventually be an option for normal F150's as well. Who knows which source is right though

So the new 5.0 might just get used for the F150's or at least we can hope.

Dang, $33k! Although I'm not suprised cause the other day i decided to build one on the Ford site with all the goodies and it was about that price.
