**** left for dead.
I just bought the L4D game for my pc, on account of my 360 being broken.
Well...Im not big on pc gaming at all, but I had bought Total War: Rome, and I fell in love with it, so I figured lets give this pc gaming thing a try....So I go to walmart, and Im looking for a new game to tickle my fancy, and I see Left For Dead. Well Ive been hearing all this **** about how awesome L4D was and that I absolutely HAVE to play it...well I buy the game, bring it home, pop it in the drive...and begin the install...In my experience with installing games is...you stick the game in, and boom it goes straight into the instalation...nope, ot with this game. I apparently have to dl some other program called Steam, and create an acount first....whatever, ok. After I install that stupid ****, I have to log in to the Steam player, which is kind of like gametap if anyone has any idea what that is, but anyway...I log into this player and from there I have to install the game. Click, boom...20 minutes later the game install. Hell yeah! Time to play......oh...wait. Nope. Steam is too busy to process my request, whatever the **** that means...well after doing all this **** over again twice....I decided...third times a charm, blah blah blah...time wasted...its all installed. Looks promising this time. I click launch game...and what the **** do I see? " Game will launch in 1 hr 33mins". WHAT THE **** DOES THAT MEAN? WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT?! Ive never been through such hell trying to download a game in my life. Now I have been reminded as to why in the **** Im not very fond of computer games.
Needless to say Ill be returning this game tomorrow and Ill be buying Medieval Total War.
If any of you even read this far...Jesus christ, I feel sorry for you.
But I had to get it off my chest somehow..

Haha....well like you said spins...after all the initial bullshit, it was the updates that were taking forever.
But I finally got it to work last night, and...yeah. There is no story. Its basically ******* run and gun zombies......HOWEVER, it does have the potential to freak me at some moments. Like when the hordes bust out. But yeah, all in all....Ill probably be taking it back tomorrow or something. Ill probably get medieval II kingdoms. If you're not familiar with the Total War games, well they're badass real time strategy games where you build massive armies and take em to the field...how ever my computer cant process more than 6000 something soliers on the screen at one time, but its still badass, haha. Online play is great, too.

It's an excellent game. Buying that game for the story is like buying a porno for the same reason.. Pointless. If you had actually had the intelligence to do some research before you bought it , then you would have known that there IS no story. It's just about a group of survivors trying to make it to safety in the midst of a zombie (or more correctly "infected") apocalypse. If you're looking for story, buy a ******* RPG. If you're looking for an intense FPS that has great replay value, then it will suit you nicely. I probably have a good 90 hours into that game at least. And a good 30 hours of that spent beating it on expert. And it is a VERY difficult game. I was only able to beat it thanks to a few clever glitches that were in the programming. However, those glitches were recently removed via an update, making the game nearly impossible to beat (unless you have 4 skilled human players.

The only thing L4D is good for is the versus.
Its lacking with the choice of weapons, however, and the game has very much potential for some killer ******* story play. But. It has no story...and thats what it needs.
I will say that it does startle the **** out of me though when the hordes bust out, haha. So in that aspect its fun, but its not worth keeping. Ima be returning it regardless cause I cant get a stable enough connection to play it and it lags like a ************.

I took it the other way. It needs no story, because it is a pure game. It is about survival. Period. Adding a story would only complicate things, and take your focus off of the task at hand. And yes, computer gaming FTL.

10,000 dollars says you cannot get L4D and play on the same servers as me, only way to do it is DL a copy (EASY) and play on Hamachi servers (Lame)... you cannot play on the same servers as steams runs VAC (Valve Anti Cheat)
