This is a great point and shoot camera. It's definitely what I could recommend for someone on a budget. It's a mere $160.

I've got a GE A735 7mp point-n-shoot camera that I picked up a while back at a walmart for >$90. It's the best point-n-shoot camera I've ever owned and I highly recommend it if you can find one.

Then, my friend, you want a DSLR.

Gotta up the budget though.

You can find Nikon D40 Refurbs for under $400. Thats what i shoot with and i love it.

I agree 100% with Chris, you definitely want a Nikon D40.

Here's a refurbished one for $375
