get those gear in and installed before you get out here...the guys at taylor barracks can do it but they be leaving soon! i know you dont want to pay economy prices...EURO is still killin the dollar even though my COLA has dropped from 700 a month to 380...bummer.

i break the stang out of jail in april! i cant wait. i didnt drive it all winter because if i wrecked it i would be screwed due to the drag radials and summer tires up front.

If you haven't already pick up a CAI. Love how the S197's respond to CAI and tune!

Woo-hoo! If you get 4.10 gears, you'll love 'em. I promise! I ordered sequentials for my car, had them on there for 2 days and they stopped working. I took the car to my uncle's to install them on a Saturday, drove it home, they were working fine that night when I showed my dad and brother, the next day (Sunday) I didn't drive the car at all. Drove to work Monday morning, went to show my friends and they weren't working. I sent them back and got a refund.

How do you know how S197's respond to mods? That's something I've always wondered about people who type stuff like that. Is it because you've read that from a lot of places, or because you actually know because you've felt a before and after difference?

Not digging on you or anything, I'm just wondering.

Many of us have friends with modded s197s not to mention dyno proven gains, and or gains on the track.

And yes, a JLT Cai and a Tune on a s197 is very nice.

I've got an Air Raid cai that's been waiting til I got the tuner. I called a couple of places about the gears today. The stealership wants $780 just to install, another will do it for $400 but no warranty. So I'll keep looking.

Sunshine, did you get the "plug in" sequentials or the "splice in"?

I got a whopping $60 back from the Feds. ha ha ha ha.....Cali owes me $1,311, but apparently the State doesn't have any money so who knows when I will get it.

Okay. I understand the dyno proven and track gains, but even if you have a friend with a modded S197, it's hard to tell the difference unless you are actually driving the car. I have a friend with an '05 GT, only thing done to it is lowering springs. When I ride with him, the only thing I can tell is that mine pulls a hell of a lot harder and accelerates faster because of the gears.

If you get a good place to do it, don't worry about a warranty. The first dealership I called wanted $700 for an install. The second dealership I went to are the ones who did one hell of a brake job on my '93 Mustang. They wanted $530 for the install. Even though the price was still a little too high, I couldn't find a quote cheaper than $400 anywhere around here and since I had a good experience with that dealership, I decided to pay a little more and go with them. I'm happy I did. 3,000+ miles on my 4.10's, no problems at all, and I love the hell out of them. Makes the car much more fun to drive. You'll love them.

Plug in. I got these:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/cdc-dynamite-sticks.html

Those are made by Stack Racing, not CDC. I'd go with CDC if I decided to get them again.

I got the Plug in as well. Mine work great and have not messed up yet. That stinks that yours messed up. Must have been a bad set or something.

I have a SCT tuner and CAI and i love it. Besides the sound i dont know if others would be able to tell the difference unless in a race or something. I can smoke em way better now than when it was stock (well just the one tire lol! ). Any ways i don't care its way more fun with the tune and CAI!

well based on what it cost my mom to get an oil change/service for her BMW I'd say someone is making some money.....might not be you, but someone at BMW is.
