LOGAN UPDATE!
Hey Folks!
Been a little while since i posted anything much about my song, but we have some good news!
Got some new people on here so to get things up to speed, my son Logan was born June 3rd 2007, the next day we found out he had a problem with his heart. They planned to watch him and see how he developed but after a couple months of being in and out of the hospital it was clear he was going to need invasive open heart surgery to get this corrected. when he was about 2 1/2 months old he crashed real hard and we were very close to losing him. when he was about 3 months old he had open heart surgert at the Childrens Hospital of Denver and they replaced his mytral valve with a mechanical valve. The surgery was a major success, we had him home a few weeks later.
about 2 months or so after the surgery we had him in for a routine checkup and they found that one of the leaflets in the mechanical valve was not opening, it was stuck shut. After consideration of redoing the surgery they decided to keep a close eye on it and watch and see how he does. they did not expect it to start opening again, so if the other leaflet gets stuck shut he would immediatly die of heart failure.
So, he is almost 18 months now. We just had another appointment this morning, and it looks like the stuck leaflet is now moving again!!!! This is fantastic news as it pushes out his next heart surgery by several years!!
Personally i take credit for getting that leaflet unstuck, cause i scared the living **** out of him back in october with a jason-mask at walmart.
Great way to start out a new year!

awesome news to hear Chris...looks like he is growing up fast.
i have 2 cousins that are 3 and 5, and boy do they grow fast. it feels like yesterday we were just bringing the two of them home from the hospital (my family is really really close)

He looks good bro. I think most of us posted that he will be ok, probably because he always "looked" healthy, he's a strong little dude, and all the postive energy from this forum maybe helped you to.. Good luck in the coming years when he starts terrorizing your household. LOL. He looks like he's gonna be all boy, same as mine was 16 years ago..

lol.. thanks for all the replies!
Yup, needless to say it is a huge relief off our chests, we were expecting that he would have to have another surgery within the next year or so, now maybe in 2-4 maybe 5 years.
