Default Plastic piece on the 99-04 stangs

What's that black plastic piece for that's near the front of the car? You can see them on stangs that don't have a chin spoiler. Just noticed mine hanging today and 2 of the 3 pushpin screws fell off so I just took it off. I'm assuming this is just a pointless piece and there's no need for me to put it back on?

yeah that's probably it. About a foot long or so. So I'm guessing I should get some new pins from ford and put it back on?

If it is the piece I am thinking of it is connect to the bottom of the radiator? It is to push a little bit of air up towards the radiator. It matches with the little side pieces of plastic, but just about all mustangs you see are missing them.

Thoes radiator air deflectors are actually useful. I made my own out if aluminum and rubber and it is about 3" from the ground, flexible enough the be able to scrape on stuff and not break or bend permenatly but stays at the right angle for highway speeds. They create a high pressure zone infront of the radiator to push the air in and a low pressure zone behind the radiator to pull the air out.
