I always thought 50 was kinda low but it has worked thus far. You do not have a clue how many people with 1-30 posts try to sell items and we know nothing about them. We have had scammers try before and we do our best to help make that not happen. It helps to give someone an idea of wither or not they should do business with a person also. Also we do it to encourage new members to stay and join in our little mustang community.

It also was not just raised because of you. If your looking to sell your car you really should use autotrader.com or cars.com or ebay.com or craigslist.org

 

I know, thanks man, I am having a hard time being that pro-active because I kind of don't want to sell it.

we are happy to have you on the boards, happy to have you here contributing, but nobody is really interested in somone who comes in with 10 posts then bitches about the classifieds rule. like i said earlier, this place is not craigslist.

we have seen this before, we will see it again, and it just gets old.

Speaking of craigslist, that is how i sold mine recently. I had her up for sale for about 6 months, and like you i wasnt overly pro-avtive about selling her just cause i wasnt too eager to see her go.

Most of the times i got hits on craigslist they were offering trades or 3,000 under asking price. I ran an autotrader ad for 3 months and only got 1 hit off of that.

it aint easy selling a mustang right now thats for sure.

When i finally DID sell her i got 14,500 for an 04GT with 31k miles on the odo. There were better deals on craigslist, however the buyer saw my stang and fell in love with it, and wasnt interested in any other car after he saw her.

the problem is 99% of the people are just looking for a car, they arent looking for what we get with our mustangs.

another problem is i swear 99% of the people on the mustangboards are under 21. and while that isnt a bad thing, it also means that your chances of selling to somone are very very slim especially since so many people are out of state.

my rec, keep posting her up on craigslist, get a couple real damn good pics of her that really show her off.

oh yah, also Ebay is good.. Just maake sure you put down a reserve.

Looky here, you brought up a valid point. Many other members have also said that 50 posts can be had easily with no effort. 200 requires more time and if you want to scam someone on this board I guess youve earned it after 200,lol . If you got a bridge for sale Ill by it from you but after your reach your 200 .

 

I kinda understand both sides. But i think you are right Venom. I think it would be easy to punk someone when selling something for $100. Its to bad that people are like that in this world. Korndigitty I would say try and sell it like they said above. I sold a car once on Autotrader but it took like 4 months to sell.

 

The car market is not that great right now. You will sell it eventually but it may take some time. On this board its tough to sell something that can not be shipped since we have members all over the US and other parts of the world.
