Stealership Hell!!!!
Part I
Lug Nuts
Let me start by saying I am leaving at 0500 driving 500 miles to visit relatives. Also all services have been done at these two dealerships. Let the games begin:
I am still having vibration problems so I decided to take the tires off and have a look see at how everything has been wearing before we leave. Now I have not had a problem breaking loose the lugs the prior 3 times I removed the tires to include the factory lugs, but today it wasn't happening and I have the hernia to prove it!!!! I forgot to mention the local dealership installed the tires the last time after they were re-balanced, obviously with an ungodly amount of torque. I used a lug wrench with cheater bar, a four-way with teenage son and then for ***** and giggles I put the torgue wrench on and 150 ft lbs wouldn't touch it. Oh yeah, and in the process broke a 3/4 socket in two My frustration in beyon words. I call the dealership and download my frustrations to be told that all I need do is bring it in and they woudl be glad to adjust the lugs. I get there to be confronted by Patrick the service person who proceeds to tell me it is normal for lugs to be difficult after being installed with pneumatic equipment. (I'm a girl so those big technical words were meant to confuse me) I informed Patrick that I had never had a problem in the past and that the lugs were only supposed to be at 100 ft/lbs and my torque wrench went to 150 without budging them. He puffed up and asked me where I got 100 ft/lbs. Of course I had to pull out the owners manual and show him on pg. 186 the exact torque specifications. He proceeded to hang his head in shame and write the order ticket which was performed most expeditiously.
Part II
The Oil Change
I left the local dealership and drove to Wal-Mart for a quicky oil change before hitting the road. Only supposed to be 30 min, just enough time for me to do my last minute shopping and be out to pick up the young'uns. In only 10 minutes my name is being called to return to the service area in regards to my vehicle. All sorts of nightmarish images go through my mind, I reach the desk to be informed that whoever performed the last service cross-threaded the drain plug. Now Wal-Mart ain't touching that. Who was the last one to service my car you ask.......the Nashville dealership where I bought it!!!! (an hour and half drive from here) I call them and vented another depth of frustrations only to be told there was nothing to be done unless I drive my car down there and then they aren't sure of what will be done or how long it will take. I inform them that to drive down there would cost me $30 in gas and the odds of me getting there before closing were pretty slim. Too Bad so sad sucks to be me. So I proceed to call Ford, who informs me that unless it is failure of a Ford part, they really don't give a rats ***. It's up to the dealership to fix and only the dealership that messed it up will fix it free of charge. I call the service manager and ask him if I can go 1000+ over my oil change without serious damage and he said I could without a problem. (I have his name and voice recorded)
Part III

Did you just back in bed and cover your head up so you didnt go out and kill some sum-bitch?
Nobody cares about nobody no more, theres no pride in workmanship anymore and guess who pays for it. SAD!!! Hope your trip went well.

Thanks Everybody for letting me vent out a really crappy day. Trip is going really great considering I am visiting family. The car is running great and the tire is holding in. I have gotten in the habit of using the dealership for service since they alway send me the coupons but I guess I am getting what I pay for. I should have figured out they were idiots when they couldn't fix the blown speaker. That's another problem in the works.

Yeah, I know, I was really trying to see how much torque was on them. That's when the socket split and four letter words spewed forth.

You're talking about darn and drat, right? Lol, I work on my friends cars all the time and generally charge by the swear word......
