In the US, that chick would be screwed. A car is a marital asset. That means it is owned 50/50. If she did this in the US, 50% of the car's value would be deducted from her settlement if/when they get divorced, PLUS she could risk even going to jail for trying to hide or give away what belongs to him no manner who's name is actually on the title.
