My 99 Nissan Sentra is dead..
Ok so I tried to start the sentra up today, so I can take my friends to a restaurant.
And the damn car wouldnt start. Its been sitting there for a while to!! lol
I turned on my headlights and the are REALLY dim...... plus its the same battery I had in it since I bought it new...so the battery is like 5 years old...
Im gonna have to get a new battery.
I have never replaced a battery so please dont laugh at my retarded questions...lol
How should I go about replacing the battery? can I use a (metal) adjustable wrench to disconnect the terminals? (I wont get shocked using a metal wrench on the terminal connectors?)
Im thinking all I have to do is first disconnect the negative....and then ..disconnect the postive....then take the battery out...and go to my local Pep-Boys and Have them figure out exaclty which battery to buy,,and then intall the new battery. Positive first..and then negative...and then drive around a bit for the Computer to learn everything again...right?

Correct, but keep the old battery or they'll charge you a disposal fee. Just go up there and tell them what kind you need. And yes, negative first, or youll be in for a light show! lol. Oh yea, and if you have one of those recycling places like for aluminum cans and stuff, most of them take used batteries and pay you like a buck or so for them, so take em there.
