GT Auto question, Cruise control quirk.
Just out of curiosity, i was chillin with the cruise control on one day and wondered what would happen if i threw it in neutral. Suprisingly enough, it did NOT disengage the CC, instead, the dumbass kept upping the throttle in attempt to get to the correct speed, well, not being in gear, that wont work. However, it amused me that it kept trying. So I sat there and let it get about 500 before redline then i killed the CC and merrily went on my way, happily satisfied that now i knew what would happen.
My question is, do all GT Auto's do this? Or is mine acting up? You'd think it would kill the CC.....
This is the first AUTO ive ever owned. Normally im a stick guy, but my choice when i bought the damn thing was a Manual V6 or a Auto GT....
This was a while back i did this, it just recently dawned on me that this might be a malfunction.

Not trying to make a big comeback, just tired of hearing people doing stupid **** to their mustangs or any car. I hope you continue your car abuse until it no longer runs then you think, I wonder how this happened?

God, why am i even talking to this idiot?
Ok, look here, any of you retards that are stupid enough to think that putting your car into neutral when yer driving is bad, please do not bother responding to this thread, i would rather keep it to a group of people with at least a kindergarden level of education.
In case you think neutral is bad for your car, when you step on the clutch pedal while changing gears, what you are doing is putting your car in NEUTRAL.
Neutral = Neutral
Neutral does NOT = Reverse, park, off, or anything like that.
Next time yer driving, if you step on the clutch so you can rev yer engine at somone, well, that is pretty much the same thing that happened. In an Auto, putting the car in neutral while driving is perfectly safe. Jesus.
Anyone who understands this concept, please feel free to post on this thread.

Neutral. I put it in neutral you Moron. Read my above post with the explanation of what that means.
There are people here who get thier cars to the track, power shifting, slammin the brakes, doing all this abuse to the car and you give me crap about putting it in neutral?
are you really that stupid?

OK, Ill bite that, that is sound solid advice.
Here is the problem tho, That isnt how my car is set up.
Here is the setup on an 2004 GT Auto.
PARK
REVERSE
NEUTRAL
DRIVE
2ND GEAR
1ST GEAR....
So to go from Drive to Neutral, you do not pass reverse, and if yer sittin holding the side button while scaling through the virtual conicopia of options and find youself putting it in reverse from drive, then yes, yer a moron and shouldnt own a car.
However, Neutral is DIRECTLY above DRIVE. You do NOT pass Reverse.
The way it is set up, you can have it in FIRST, and slide it to 2nd then to drive without it locking, you can NOT go from DRIVE down to 2nd or first unless you hit the button because it does lock.
Going up from Drive to Neutral, once it hits neutral the lever LOCKS into place and does not go to reverse.
Can i be driving and go from DRIVE to NEUTRAL to REVERSE? Hell if i know, i am not that goddamn stupid.
There is NOTHING wrong with going into NEUTRAL.
Now that we got this settled, can we please move on and get back to the origional question of this thread?
BTW... nice looking GT you have there... i still think yer an *** though.
Also, I cannot speak for any other year of MUSTANG GT, i dont know what might be different on the auto tranny from the 04 from any previous year.

Naw you got me on that one, I was thinking of from park, but I personally wouldn't move my shifter from Drive while it was moving but its up to you and its your car. I know you have to push the button to engauge(sp?) it to move upward, I think that was for a reason but no exactly sure. But anyway good luck with your car and hopefully it won't be messed up. And for being an ***, I could care less of your thoughts of me.
