However, it amused me that it kept trying. So I sat there and let it get about 500 before redline then i killed the CC and merrily went on my way, happily satisfied that now i knew what would happen.

My question is, do all GT Auto's do this? Or is mine acting up? You'd think it would kill the CC.....

This is the first AUTO ive ever owned. Normally im a stick guy, but my choice when i bought the damn thing was a Manual V6 or a Auto GT....

This was a while back i did this, it just recently dawned on me that this might be a malfunction.
Next time slam her into reverse and see how it malfunctions, dont do stuff like that to your car :angry1:

Not trying to make a big comeback, just tired of hearing people doing stupid **** to their mustangs or any car. I hope you continue your car abuse until it no longer runs then you think, I wonder how this happened?

Im dying to hear this.
Okay, well you have to pass R to get to N, so how about you mistakenly let it fall into reverse WHILE moving. I have heard people doing stupid things like you tried and it goes into reverse and flip their car and total it. Hmmmm thats a good reason why not to do it. It isnt like a 5spd where you don't have to pass anything to get it into neutral, thats why its an automatic and not a 5spd.

And 9 times out of 10, when your in the frame of mind of saying, "I wonder what would happen if..." Normally the end result isn't too pleasing.

Naw you got me on that one, I was thinking of from park, but I personally wouldn't move my shifter from Drive while it was moving but its up to you and its your car. I know you have to push the button to engauge(sp?) it to move upward, I think that was for a reason but no exactly sure. But anyway good luck with your car and hopefully it won't be messed up. And for being an ***, I could care less of your thoughts of me.

your car wont go into reverse unless your foot is on the brake, you can pop out of reverse into neutral or drive, or out of drive into neutral.
That is, if your car isnt all screwed up...
