:shaken Long story short shifted into 2nd going pretty fast instead or 4th from 3rd. Rear end locked up, now its making whining and knocking noises. Trans is perfect, clutch is perfect thankfully. New rear end was on the list for the summer sooo im not tooo mad but pissed at myself for being dumb, but if anyone has driven a car with a tko 600 you would understand why. soo probably going with a auburn posi differential and 31 spline axles. yay

so probably by the end of next week ill have a bullet proof rear end to go along with my bullet proof engine, trans and clutch. I guess something had to break

 

I saw something similar happening to you.....I want pics when you pull it apart destryed differential, ring and pinion...

 

lol you guessed that was the next thing to break? yeah ill see if i can get som pics. Im sure it will be hell when the cover is taken off, everytime i let off the gas you can hear things moving around, im just suprised it drivable

 

i wouldnt drive it at all. remember that rear end is connected to the tranny by your driveshaft and at the end of that driveshaft is a problem just waiting to get worse.

 

hmm maybe thats what i did... i get a whining noise when i idle :x cept im a auto..and i went from ..drive to reverse doing like 80 =x

 

I have to drive about 10 miles tomorrow to get it tested for emissions and then to the shop to get fixed, so yeah definately will not be driving much at all, unless i have to. I would wait to get emissions done but my license will be suspended if i dont

sounds about right those autos are very strong so if anything was to break it would be the rear end

 

Just gives me a reason to get a posi and gears.

 

ha ha yeah, gears are the best mod by far, hopefully my gears will be ok, i dont feel like spending 200 if i dont have to. already going to have to spend about 350 on differential and 300 on axles and probably another 300 on install or so.

i did this once wen i first got my car. redlined in 3rd n brought it into 2nd by accident. luckily no damage done i slammed the clutch and knocked it into neutral in .1 seconds

yeah i did it about that fast too, come to think of it i might have done it before i threw it into second, I was launching it pretty hard on DR's about 2-3 times before i did it.. OH well im just glad my trans is ok
