Default front licence plate

I'm considering taking my front licence plate off because I hate how it looks with it on the front.. Im thinking about taking it off and putting it inside on the dash.. for anyone that has done this had you had any problems with the cops or anything? because I know in MASS you need a front and a rear but I dont know if they really enforce it or not..

im in illinois and i took mine off. when the dealer i bought my car from had the plate holder screw in, they had 3 different types of screws in and they were HUGE. so theres 3 bigass holes in my front bumper. ive had it off since probably october and i havent had a problem. i've been stopped twice (for absolutely ridiculous stuff) and the cops didnt say anything about the plates. i keep it in the little pouch behind my passenger seat.

In Maryland we have the same law and they will give you hell...my friend took it off his Camaro and he got so ****ed within 15 minutes of gettin on the road so I would keep it on the front and in the clear. I remember part of that law says something about being CLEARLY visible...and your windshield is not Clearly visible..

california requires it by law too but I've never used it. I don't get bugged about it much... never get stopped for it. My front bumper covers were never drilled or otherwise been swiss cheese-ed so they can't exactly say it had to have come that way cuz it never did.

When they tell me it's required I say, "really... that's a law? well I guess I'll hook it up when I get home then. Thanks for letting me know" and they'll usually believe me and leave it at that.

I made a custom bracket for mine, as it is required in my state to have a front plate. If the law is ever changed I will take it off. I made it a bolt on kit so I didn't have to drill any holes. Take a look at my gallery.
