Default Speeding Rehab?

Ok this isn't a joke...my friends and family all got together and said that they're worried about ho wmuch i speed. As one friend said "I've never seen you actually going the speed limit" I know i have a problem, but for me it's not so simple that i can just stop....speeding keeps me happy and is the biggest stress reliever in the world for me. I don't ever feel as good doing anything(Even being with a girl) than when i'm going over 100 with my engine roaring....and it's not the car either i speed in everything and anything that has wheels. What can i do and i'm trying not to sound dumb because this may seem stupid but it is a real problem that i have. Is there like speeding rehab or something? What do yuo guys do to control that itch?

When you have your liscense taken away, or you pay 300 a month to be covered by insurance, you might stop. Or if you smash your car up or kill someone, mabye that will change your mind.

Agreed. A ticket, insurance, or wreck (god forbid) will usually wake you up to the fact that there is no reason to do 100+ on a public road.

yeah wait until your speeding through cars and that one car pulls in front of you because they dont see you hauling ***, and you cream the hell out of it and kill someone. Don't be one of those dicks thats getting right up on peoples asses because they arent going 100 mph like you. Its not hard to just drive the speed limit and do a few short bursts here and there. Dont be dumb.

LOL at this thread. Your only 17 right? If I were your parents I'd take the SCT Xcal you have and get a tune that wouldn't allow your car to go past 80mph...problem solved. ha ha ha

But seriously dude, do you go in and out of traffic driving like a crazy person? I'm not sure how to really solve the problem other than having your license taken away and if you continue to drive like that it will be taken away.

I have the need to speed every time I drive my car. But my common sense keeps me in control. Even when a riced out Honda gets beside me. I may lapse in judgement on a rare occasion and romp it hard for a good 30 or 40 mph over the limit, but that's it. I know the consequences of being only 15 mph over the limit. I've always loved to drive fast, but you just can't do it on the street on a daily basis. Odds are you will get a ticket or worse, be the cause of a bad accident related to your speeding. Slow down....

I use to have a really bad problem with speeding, then one day after i spent 2-3 hours washing and detailing my car, i was just cruising doing the speed limit, when i went in a green light and a speeder/red light runner took my blue mustang away, now i don't speed to bad, yeah i get spurts of speed everyonce in a while. but i have been able to keep it to a minimal. because i lost my car, that i still am sad i lost, to a speeder. and luckly i wasn't hurt, but the other guy was sent to the hosbital.

just wait till something happens you will change.

I realize what ya'll are saying is true and I never speed when there's traffic around and in residential areas...only in the country where i live and on the highway. I pretty much obey all other laws and no worries about lights etc....there are none in the town i live...yeah its that small. I'm slowing down though and gettin my head on straight.....I hear they're opening a road course in th enext year in SA so maybe i can get that itch out there. I'm also attending a Formula 1 driving school this summer maybe that will help...if i can haul *** on the track there will be no need for me to haul *** on the street. As far as my parents... i'm going to college and i pay all my tickets etc. myself obviously... they know i speed and the fact is that i now own my own car so.....yeah. I dunno i went an entire day without speeding today....it's like as long as i think of the fact that i might hurt my car or my gf sittin next to me i can control my itch a lot better. Hey...don't be jerks bout this we aren't all perfect. This is my one big flaw. What's yours Mr. Perfect?

See, this is the line that should really open your eyes. Forget the car. You're putting someone ELSE's life at risk, be it your gf or your friends when you drive like an idiot with them in the car. If you are alone, thats one thing.

Just be careful man.

We all speed from time to time, and you have the idea right, time and place, just be careful.

It's called maturity plain and simple. This is the reason why insurance rates are soo high on younger drivers with sports cars. You either need an experience to scare the crap out of you or grow up.

I think it is cool of you to be honest with your post.
