Default Such a PITA to install...

heres more info on the unit i got.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...069681,00.html

Well my Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is hooked up for the most part. I really hate doing that wiring ****, especially into the PCM. You are supposed to hook up a VVS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) so your GPS is accurate. That took me about an hour to pull the panels to access the PCM (2mins) undo some bolts that hold 3 other harnesses (2mins) then unbolt the PCM bolt so you have access to the wiring (82975987982 hours) and find the wire you need in that rats nest they call a harness (983724984327 days).

I mounted my GPS reciever at the bottom of my A-Pillar so I dont really have to see it, yet its in the open for the best signal possible. The wiring is kind of a PITA and I remember how fustrating the Mach460 is to work around again. Ill need two sets of single female to double male RCA plugs so my mach460 opperates correctly. Without those RCAs, I can only run front mids or rear mids and it sounds like *** right now.

I also dont have a dash kit for a DD screen so ill have to grab one of those tomarrow. Other than that, the entire car is ripped apart on the inside.

Well, its time for pictures! Ill get better ones tomarrow when everything is actually IN correctly.

does the speed sensor stop you from watching DVD's while driving? I know you can fool a lot of the older models that hook up to the parking break.

I think you cant watch over 15mph. I havent tried yet. I just took it for a spin to make sure my voice guided navigation works.

-EDIT-

After reading up, I can ground two wires and it bypasses it so movies or whatever can play.

I did the bypass for the nav and watching movies on the go last night. I went around and looked this morning for a dash kit for a double-din setup and no one has em in stock so its gotta be ordered.

ill get more pics when its actually finished.
