need 4wd
i need your guys help. i need a list of all 4wd cars and trucks. no big suv's like the expidition. no trucks bigger than an f150 or 1500 chevy/dodge. i cannot stand being stranded in stupid weather like this and a front wheel drive car wont make it any where as i got stuck in my own development on the way to work. never made it to work. lol (for those wondering, LOTS OF PACKED SNOW AND ICE!)
so far i have got:
Any Subaru
Ford Explorer
Dakota
f150
Silverado
thanks for the help

Our 4wd Ford Escape is a BEAST in the snow. Yesterday I passed about 10 stuck cars in it, some were suburbans and stuff.
It's also just a great all around car anyway, and surprisingly fast if you get the V6 one.

i would get an older subaru outback and use that they can get a good 300k miles before they need a rebuild. My brothers winter beat is a subaru wagon 1985 modle and has 350k on it and still runs well. No major maintance done. He doesnt rip on hard at all though. From the few subarus we have had i would really sugest one unless you need something with more ground clearance then i would deffinatly say a older f150/bronco just a base modle with 4wd and posi/lockers would be nice in the snow.

i know what purestang is frustrated with, that storm sucked. luckily i didnt get stuck anywhere. my buddy out in PA bought an older explorer (he calls it the exploder) for like 500 and it needed a new tranny which he found for 300 i think. it works out well in the snow for him. 4wd and he just gets retread tires and slaps em on.

33's look good on a body lift nothing else. if you have a 6 inch lift and body lift then you need to get some 36-37's on that ****.

i work at a ford dealer ( in canada) so i recently took all of our cars out in the snow to see how they did. f-150, explorer, ranger, etc... all were good IF in 4wd, in 2wd most got stuck/spun ( i was suprised i got an explorer stuck before a ranger in 2wd). Fusion and Edge were ok ( if they had AWD) but tops by far was the escape. The 2wd and 4wd both had incredible traction in the snow/ice. Definatly my choice. I haven't driven a bronco in the snow but i would assume it would be similar to the explorer or f-150 because there is no weight in the back. But it all depends on variables , none of the trucks i drove had any weight in the back if they did im sure the results would have been wayyyy different.

The difference between the broncos and the new fords is that many broncos were made with 351w and c4 trannys... that added to the fact that most were posi front and rear and a decent turn radius makes them ideal for just about any offroading condition stock
