dang check out my korean DSL connection. i pay 50 bucks a month for this too. this is bullshit, i heard cable is gonna be here in the next few months but ill be on my out by then

if you change the settings you will get faster download rates, im guessing.

but seeing as how we are a telecommunications company and i work in the network operations center, which is pretty much the operations headquarters im sure we have at least a couple t3's for this building alone. i dont know how they divide all the stuff up tho..

Really just depends on how much you know about Windos Xp, and the registry. If you've never messed with it and don't do any gaming or anything that you really need the speed for then there is really no point.
Basically, if you mess up your computers registry, and you don't know which file was modified incorrectly then you will have to either restore (which doesn't always work) or re-install windows...

Like Jack's connection, through work, is meant to have a balance between the two because they most likely act as a server of some sort and they prob. pay out the *** for it.. lol

well... I have a program that monitors my up/down load speeds
and I got a few programs to maximize performance...
I'm on wifi w/ optimum online cable
that site says
Download Speed: 7772 kbps (971.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1753 kbps (219.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
My speed often is higher the 1mB/sec
